Ch-112

3rd Person POV

Yggdrasil was getting concerned about the status quo. Though she was easily able to hold her own against them, she was unable to do anything against them. Even if she fatally wounded one of them, that person would fall back and get treated while everyone covered for him.

If Yggdrasil went all out, she could take out all of them in one go. But she was concerned about Rudra, Ramiris and Zelanus who were looking at them from the side. If she were to go all out, then they would most probably attack her once she was tired.

To add salt to the wound, Rimuru and Guy were able to push back Knox. Just a few seconds of inspection was all it took for her to realise that it wasn't Knox's real body that was doing the fighting.

The occasional shock waves sure to the fight between Rimuru and Knox was concerning, but Yggdrasil was more concerned about what she should do now. She knew that Knox wouldn't be of much help, and so we the subordinates who were all cleaned up. That only left her with two potential allies, Orcanyx and Behemoth.

Both Orcanyx and Behemoth were in a life or death battle with Ruminas and Leon respectively. Though Behemoth was taking the advantage against Leon, Orcanyx was getting beaten like a dirt rag.

"I am surprised you can think about other things right now. I am sure we are very weak in your eyes, but not this weak, right?" Levy said as punched Orcanyx, causing her to slide a few metres away.

It was at this moment that a loud boom filled the surroundings, followed by a massive blast.

'So he self-destructed.' Orcanyx thought as she prepared to make a final stand. Despite all the things, she was one of the oldest Gods still alive. Born even before the Great War between the First, Second and Third Era Gods, she managed to regain the memories of all her previous lives.

All this time, she had continuously fought for her survival. And this battle would be no different. As the Goddess of Life, she could definitely love forever. But nothing comes without a cost. To maintain her own life force, she must devour the life force of other creatures.

The reason she went around destroying worlds were to take over the life force of all the creatures living in it. By giving them time and challenges to go stronger, she would increase their life force.

As the flames enveloped the battlefield, Yggdrasil didn't even bother to move, knowing that it would be completely ineffective on her. But the same couldn't be said for her opponents.

They created a barrier by combining their powers. They had thought that their barrier would definitely break, but were pleasantly surprised to see that there were only a few cracks and nothing too serious.

"Don't get arrogant. That was not even close to the powers of a true Third Era God. But don't worry. I will let you witness that power!" Yggdrasil said as branches came out of her feet and dug into the ground. The thin branches slowly guy thicker and longer.

Arun tried to attack Yggdrasil before she managed to do whatever she wanted to do, but was was stopped when a branch blocked his slash. Two other branches came out of the ground and attacked him, forcing Arun to fll back.

"Rimuru! We need to deal with her! Quick!" Guy, who understood the gravity of the situation screamed.

Yggdrasil's entire lower body had now been fused into the tree. Her upper body was present in a hollow of the trunk, growing out of the bark of the tree. Her branches had taken over the entire city and she now had complete information about what was going on in any place of the arena.

If given more time, she could have taken over the entire arena, making it a part of herself. But Rimuru and Guy didn't give her that time. They quickly created a fire wall surrounding Yggdrasil from all side.

Yggdrasil's branches were unable to touch the fire wall and erupt into flames due to fire wall that was feasting on Rimuru's Nihilium and Guy's Abyss Energy.

But even then, containing Yggdrasil was all they could do.

"Sorry to disappoint you, but we will have to interrupt your fight. There's no chance you guys will be able to defeat her." Rudra said as he took out his sword.

"As much as I wanted to see the conclusion of your fight, I doubt it would have been much different from a one sided slaughter." Ramiris said as she summoned two fairies, an earth and fire one. Both of them were spirit lords. She ordered the Earth spirit to harden the soil and remove the water to restrict the movement of her roots and ordered the fire spirit to support the flame wall.

'Ciel. Get ready. I will need your help to cover my back.' Rimuru said through the soul corridor, but got no reply. He looked at Ciel in surprise as she didn't reply, but only got a confused stare in return.

"Here. Take this. This should help." Arun said as he gave a ring that he was wearing on his left hand's ring finger to Rimuru

"What do you mean?" Rimuru asked as he took the ring while looking around to see that all the other members of his groups had received similiar rings from the earthlings. Ramiris, Rudra, Zegion, Ciel, Chloe, Guy, Milim, Rimuru and Yuuki who had now come out of his hiding each received a ring each.

"It's uncanny how our numbers exactly match up.... What does this do?" Rimuru said as he looked around. Excluding Chandra, there were nine earthlings and nine people from the Cardinal World.

"This will help you communicate via telepathy. This is Chandra's special skill that allows it to function, regardless of the opponent and his skills." Arun with a bit of pride as he explained the functioning of the ring.

'Well, it does seem to work.' Guy said using the ring's feature.
'We can communicate and plan without letting Yggdrasil's knowing now, at least.' Ramiris said.

'Does that mean that I have to listen to Guy's chatter throughout the fight?!' Rudra said in an exaggerated tone as Guy stared at him. The banter continued and was broken by a voice that they weren't expecting.

'ummmm.... Sorry to ask but can anyone explain what's going on? Who is the ring with you all?' The one who asked this was Chandra. She was outside the arena, but had not returned to her booth. The rings could not function of they were far apart, and as Chandra's ring was the main centre of the functioning of all the rings, is she were to return, all the other functions will fail to function.

What followed was a brief explanation regarding what Yggdrasil had done and how the ring was with Rimuru and others because the would be the one to fight Yggdrasil.
