Rimuru's POV

We were following Ciel's plan. But what I had not expected was that she would be able to summon her guardian. No. She didn't exactly summon them. Apart from Ramiris, who can summon spirits, or Guy who can summon demons from his own lineage, nobody should be able to do summoning.

The wooden guardians that had been summoned didn't seem to belong to her lineage. Su there is only one option left, she created them from her own body. Ciel had predicted something like this would occur, which would force us to fight more enemies, but I am sure she would not expected this.

'What should we do now, Ciel? I am sure you didn't think this would happen.' I ask her, and all I got was a hmph in return, before she finally decided to speak up.

'I don't know what they are, but they are definitely strong. I did tell you that she would have one way or another to fight us. Becoming a giant tree in a battle is just like begging us to defeat her.'

'Alright alright. I understand. You thought of this as well. So? What are we going to do now?''

'For now, we just have to buy time. If Zelanus succeeds, them we will get a crucial chance to defeat her in one go.'

'Roger that.'

I could feel a smile creep up on my face. I wonder how long it has been since I have fight someone like Yggdrasil. Yggdrasil had made made seven more subordinates. One to deal with all of us. Of course, since Yuuki is invisible and Zegion is outside the barrier, she didn't create a guardian. But, she does know that there is nine of us. If she didn't create them, does it mean it has a limit, or that she can only create one guardian per enemy?

I continued to look around and saw one of them come at me. Just as I was about to intercept the guardian, that had a peculiar resemblance to my body style, a smokescreen went off, covering both of us in its range.

'Let me take care of this. I can't deal a blow to Yggdrasil, but I can atleast allow you to do so.' Yuuki said as I suddenly heard a clash in front of me.

Understanding Yuuki's intentions, I made myself invisible. Before the smokescreen dispersed, the guardian was blown out of it. Followed by Yuuki, who looked exactly like me.

Does he have some sort of skill to replicate into others? Not only the way he looks, but even his fighting and breathing style, along with strength, magicules and even the soul look exactly the same as me. A skill like this is definitely dangerous. It would be best impossible to distinguish between us two with just mere sight.

As I continued to see him fight, I could feel as if I was looking at a replay of my battle that Ciel would often make. Well, I guess Yuuki did buy me done tone, so I should make it count. I slowly made my way to Yggdrasil. Even though I was invisible, that didn't mean I was not affecting the surroundings.

Luckily, we were not in land, or else the reverberation sure to me moving would have given up my position to her, but now, the only thing that I need to be way of is the wind that might change due to me, so I made sure to move slowly.

As I came face to face with Yggdrasil's upper body, I just did still. Though the body was carved out of wood, I could feel blood flowing through it. Well, it isn't exactly blood considering it is being pumped nearly two hundred times a minute, and is much more viscous than blood.

I look around and see that everyone, even Ciel was busy fighting someone who looked nearly identical to themselves. It did not have any facial features, or rather any other way to even determine it was even a living thing and not a golem.

I quickly run a check on Yggdrasil and notice countless insects making their way into a deep crevice in Yggdrasil's body. They most probably got scared of the fighting outside, or that's what I would have thought had I not known Ciel's plan beforehand.

'I have located her central control centre. Though I can attack it with the insects under my control, don't expect much from them.' Zelanus said through the ring.

'No problem. Continue with it. I will attack her as soon as you start.' I reply.

A few seconds after my reply, momentarily, all the movements of branches and roots stopped, and so did the guardians as they began to fall to the ground. But, they regained their control on less than a second, but that one second was more than enough for me.

I drive my claw deep into the trunk and released poison inside her. A special poison that Ultima made and could even harm me. There's no way Yggdrasil will come out of this unharmed.

After that, I quickly fired a ball made of Nihilium straight into the hole that I carved out. Even though Yggdrasil managed to regain control, it was useless as attack was faster.

I quickly summoned Despair and made a horizontal slash and managed to cut off nearly half of her trunk as the ball of Nihilium continued to devour her. But the final blow was definitely dealt by Milim, who shot a straight Dragonnova at the guardian she was fighting.

Whether it was deliberate, or by coincidence, I don't know. But the Dragonnova not only managed to vaporize the guardian she was fighting, but also blew a considerable hole in the trunk of Yggdrasil and neutralizing my Nihilium.

Looking at Yggdrasil, it was almost comical as to how her body was being held by a small piece of wood, which quickly snapped under the pressure of its massive weight and feel to the ground.

We waited for a few minutes, but nothing happened. Neither did the tree regenerate, now did Yggdrasil return to her human form.

"What now?" Guy asked as he came besides me. Everyone else also came down slowly. The guardians that they were fighting had stopped moving and slowly dissipated into small fragments which returned to the now fallen trunk.

"Good question. I doubt she is dead." Rudra said.
"But she isn't alive either." Zelanus said as he came closer to us.

But, just as I had expected, her main body slowly turned into particles before reassembling themselves back into her human form. Though, her clothes were torn and there were visible wounds in her arms and legs and she was even bleeding from her left eye.

"Do you still want to continue?" I asked.
"Isn't it obvious? Just like the many heroes I have killed till now. I will continue to struggle pathetically." Yggdrasil said with a slight smile as she took out a pill and was about to devour it. But I didn't stop her. Not because of pity, but because I knew someone else would stop her before me.

Before she could take the pill, a sword stuck out of her stomach, with her core, now cracked, at the edge of the sword.

"You should just obediently die once you are killed."
