3rd Person POV

As Milim finished dealing with the last of the underlings, she looked around to see Guy and Rimuru on close quarter combats with Knox. Both Chloe and Ciel were sitting then from afar, but the battle was stuck in a deadlock.

On the other hand, Yggdrasil was completely dominating her match against the earthlings. Though Arun was somehow leading them and managed to hold on, it was obvious that they wouldn't last long.

In reality, their co-ordination was on an another level. It was as if they could talk to each other and predict the future. All this, while the main command centre of the team, Chandra, was not even present. If Chandra was present, it might not be impossible for them to take charge of the battle.

But, the are no ifs and buts in a fight. There are only the victors and the vanquished. Milim, understanding this, was about to go and help them, but was stopped by Rudra and Ramiris.

"Stop it, Milim. This is their fight. Let them fight it out. Even if they lose and die, that is what they came here prepared for. Don't trample on their conviction." Hearing Rudra, Milim thought for a bit. As a battle maniac, the only thing she cared about was fighting.

It didn't matter how much the opponent used underhanded techniques, until it happens anyone close to her. But, she also understood that some fought, not for the sake of fighting, but for their pride and safety. Both Guy and Rimuru were prime example of this.

As such, Milim decided not to intervene and rather support Guy and Rimuru. True to her personality, she made a grand entrance, firing a Dragonnova straight at the trio who were busy locked in close quartered combat. Ciel and Chloe were able to dodge away from it, but Rimuru and Guy had to set up some of their strongest barrier.

Two of the five barriers that Guy made was destroyed, while the other three were in no condition to be used. Meanwhile, Rimuru didn't even try to defend. He opened a void in front of him and behind. He ate the Dragonnova from behind him and let it out in front of him. A neat trick that allows Rimuru to connect two distant places instantaneously.

But, the most surprising thing was most definitely Knox, who took the attack head on, and was completely fine.

"There's no way this is possible..." Chloe muttered in disbelief seeing Knox completely unharmed. Even Rimuru couldn't take the attack head on and be uninjured, especially after Milim has been fighting for nearly an hour and has been constantly producing Stardust.

"Hmm...? So you are the daughter of Veldanava? Quite dangerous. I hope Veldanava won't hold a grudge if I kill you." Knox said to Milim, as he was getting covered in a black aura.

No one made a move and kept an eye on Knox and prepared for anything he could do. But, surprisingly, nothing happened. The black aura disappeared, and out came Knox, though a bit different.

He was wearing armour. A type of armour that apart from Ciel and Rimuru, nobody had seen. After all, this piece of equipment should have been disposed long ago.

"Why do you have that?" Ciel said as she looked at Knox, all the while creating chains that bound Rimuru to her, similar to the fight against Ivarage. Rimuru, obviously, didn't stop her. After all, why would he? He knew how dangerous the armour was.

The slightly golden Armor which would slightly glow with a red hue seemed harmless. But only someone like Rimuru or Ciel, who had seen the true horror it could bring could understand just how perilous their situation was.

"Why wouldn't I have it? It belongs to me after all." Knox said with a smirk. Hearing this, booth Rimuru and Ciel turned emotionless.

"Wh-what happened?" Milim asked, suddenly confused of the change in the atmosphere.

"That armour. It's dangerous. That is the same Armor that corrupted my brother's mind." Rimuru revealed, all the while Knox had an obnoxious smile on his face.

"That's right. It's a cursed Armor that devours the feelings and emotions of the wearer. All apart their deepest desires, and then it plunges them into a helpless state where the wearer will do anything to fulfill that desire." Ciel continued to explain.

"Hahaha..... This is so ironic. My brother..... Who didn't believe in God..... Used the God's Armor to kill his own sister-in-law. What a joke!" Rimuru said with his eyes bloodshot. He partially transformed into a dragon with scales protruding out of his arms and legs. He didn't hold Despair in his arms, but it continued to float around behind Rimuru.

"Haha. Did you think Lucas was the only one who received my equipment? You were one as well. Despair! Come to me." Knox ordered. Despair which was floating behind Rimuru definitely reacted to his words and twitched, but it didn't move.

Seeing this, Knox was surprised. He couldn't believe that Despair, the sword he himself had crafted after meticulous work over hundreds of years would choose a newborn God over its creator.

This moment of hesitation was all it took for Rimuru to strike. He punched Knox, straight at his face. Knox, who was preoccupied in his thoughts, was still a God of Third Era and had been through many battlefields, even before becoming a God. He instinctively jumped out of the way, only to be met by Rimuru's tail, that he had swung, straight at his chest.

Knox was forced to use both his hands to block, but he was still pushed back. As he stumbled backwards, what awaited him was the sword that he believed was his, as it came straight at him.

At the very last moment, Knox was able to turn his body and prevent the sword from striking any vital points, but it still managed to Pierce through his right arm.

This marked that beginning of the offensive that was mounted on Knox. Milim dashed in to fight Knox as well with her fists and legs covered in Stardust. Guy, who was fighting in close quarters, created a gap and began to provide cover for Milim.

Chloe would provide support by blocking Knox's escape route and supporting Rimuru and Milim. Despite the fight being a five on one, Knox showed no sign of being in trouble apart from the mishap at the beginning of the battle.

Rimuru's POV

As I continue to attack Knox, he simply blocks my attacks but dodges Milim's. From what I have seen, it appears that he is wary of Stardust. If that's the case, then Nihilium should be effective on him as well. But I will only get one chance to use it and catch him by surprise.

I stop attacking Knox and let Milim take the stage. Because, till now, both of us were attacking him, we would take turns attacking him. Our synergy was still not at a level where we attack at the same time and be positively sure that we will not hurt each other.

Milim, who now had more freedom, continued her attack as they became more and more ferocious, but Knox would simply dodge them, and attempt to counter-attack, but stop immediately as Milim would cover the part of her body that Knox was about to attack.

Looks like I will have to activate it again if I want to fight him without using Nihilium.
