Ch-113

3rd Person POV

"What's the plan?" Rimuru asked as he looked at Yggdrasil who was trapped inside the circle of flame.

"We can just stay here. She can't attack us here." Ramiris said but was cut off by Rudra.
"But then we can't attack her either. It will be a deadlock in which we can't make any moves and neither can she. We are just stuck with nothing to do."

"Any other ideas?" Rimuru asked looking around. Rimuru, or rather, everyone understood that they needed to come up with a plan. And quick. After all, this deadlock would not continue. Yggdrasil would definitely find a way to break through the fire wall. Once she manages to do that, they will have no other way to contain her.

"Let's just do what we can. If we work together and properly time everything, this might just be possible." Ciel said as she spoke up. As soon as she said that, everyone turned to look at her. Everyone knew that Ciel was one of the, if not the, smartest one here. Though her battle sense was not that good, her cunning and future planning more than enough made for it.

"What is the plan?" Zelanus asked.
"It's simple. All we have to do is..."

Yggdrasil's POV

I can see that I am surrounded by a flame circle. Though it would have been useless against me, there is something special in this flame. As soon as any part of my body touched it, it would erupt into flames.

I was expecting them to attack me right now, but since they haven't, they must be planning how to deal with me. Well, the longer they take, the better. I have no idea what is present in this flame, but due to my innate nature to change and evolve, I am already making great progress in obtaining resistance to the flame.

I tried to expand my roots underground, but the soil had suddenly become tough, barren and devoid of any water. Just as I was thinking about what to do about my roots, I felt certain insects crawling on my trunk.

It's true that life comes into existence close to my body almost instantaneously, but since this was limited by the area and amount of divinity I currently had, I had expected it would take more time. Looks like I have more divinity than I expected.

*Boom*

Suddenly, my upper branches exploded into a large flame. Though the flames were put out quite quickly, but the damage done to the branches that were directly attacked was exponential. I noticed that nine of them had entered inside the circle and were floating at the same height as my upper branches.

"Who thought a single tree would give us this much of trouble." A human, who is called Rudra, said with a sly grin as he brandished his sword.

But my main concern was that trio, Milim, Rimuru and Guy. All three of them have exceptional attacking prowess. Their attacks can hurt me faster than I can recover.

Most of the branches that had been effected had already grown back. I attack the three of them with my branches, but before they could even get close to them, those branches were cut off by swords.

"Aren't you underestimating us a bit too much?" Rudra said as looked at me. The other human girl, Chloe stood behind him. Though she didn't say anything, it was obvious that her thoughts were in the same line as Rudra.

I created nearly ten branches and attacked Rudra with them. Since he is so insistent in coming in my way, it is obvious that I should deal with him first.

Rudra managed to cut off two of my branches with one slash and blocked the third branch with his left arm and blew up another branch with his magic, but the fifth branch managed to land on him, smashing him to the ground, but he managed to regain his control before creating into the ground and responded in kind my exploding two more of my branches.

Chloe wanted to help Rudra so I had two roots come from the ground and hold onto her feet, preventing her from moving. My roots quickly dragged her to the ground, but they were cut off by a wind blade from Ramiris.

"Napalm Burst!" I suddenly heard Guy say, as a large amount of foreign magicules started to gather around me.

I quickly covered my trunk with my magicules, strengthening the outer layer. There was a large explosion right next to my trunk. Even after strengthening my trunk, a major part of my trunk was blown off. But, no serious damage was done.

It would be healed in a few seconds, so I quickly cover the wound with my branches and roots, giving it time to recover. But, I felt a strange energy coming straight at the wound.

I quickly spot Rimuru, who had thrown a spear made of an ominous energy. That spear is dangerous. I quickly create countless branches to come in the spear's way and stop it, but it didn't stop.

Luckily, it did slow down, and the final later if defense that I had erected earlier managed to stop it. But, it did manage to pierce through my branches.

All the branches that were pierced were injected by a weird poison. I don't have any interest in finding out what it does, so I cut off the branches that were infected as they fell to the ground with a thud.

I suddenly felt that the Earth was much more drier than it was a few moments ago, and it was losing its water content by the moment. Though something as small as lack of water won't do anything to me, it will definitely increase my magicule consumption for regeneration. 

"I am not a woodcutter, so do excuse me." Rudra said as he cut off one of my major branches, along with several smaller one. But, before he could retreat, I managed to catch him by his ankle. He tried to cut off the branch, but was ambushed by many other branches that held him tightly, not allowing him to move. Just as I was about to pierce him through his chest, a pink wave of magicules cut off the branches holding Rudra, allowing him to dodge the branch that was intended to kill him.

"You should be more careful, you idiot hero. If it wasn't for Milim, you would have been dead. Not that I care." Guy taunted.

"Shut up, you accursed demon." Rudra sorry back as he created some distance between himself and me. From the opposite side of Rudra, Chloe tried to attack me. But I had already noticed her, yet I did nothing. Not because I couldn't, but because I don't need to. This body has matured enough now.

Just as Chloe was about to strike, her attack was blocked. Her sword strike was blocked by a wooden sword. Under normal circumstances, Chloe would have been surprised that it was a wooden sword that didn't break. But right now, the person wielding that sword was concerning to Chloe. After all, she too was made of wood.
