Rimuru's POV

As soon as we passed through the door, we came in front of a large gate. There were about five people standing in front of the door. Though they were humanoids, they could hardly be called humans. Though they stood on two legs, they had completely different body analogy.

Few had tentacles in place of arms, while others lacked forelimbs altogether. Some had three eyes, while others had more than one face. There was no uniformity between the people. The only thing common between all of them was that they were new Gods just like us and had come here for their Awakening ceremony as well.

They made their way one by one into the arena. Though there was no one to guide them, they still all entered one by one. So, we followed what they did and waited for everyone to enter the arena before we entered ourselves. Many other people had also arrived after us, and just like us, were waiting for us to pass through.

I was the first one to pass through.

"Take care dear. Don't do anything too dangerous." Ciel warned me.
"That's right Rimuru. Take care of yourself and don't push yourself." Chloe added.

"Don't worry. I will take care of myself. You both also make sure to take care of yourself." I reply back to them.

"Mhmm. We will. Take care. Good luck." That was the last thing I heard before I entered the arena. The arena which was surrounded on all sides by a wall only had one entrance. As soon as I passed through it, I was teleported to another dimension.

Suddenly, a screen popped up in front of me. There were three columns which showed the name of God, his power and the current status of inheritance. All the ones I was eligible for were written on top. But, I decided to start from the bottom. There were atleast thousands of different Inheritance. Just how many gods are there?!

Most of these inheritance were already taken. But as I moved upwards, the inheritance were either available, or someone was taking their test. I continued to look through the list and finally saw a few familiar names.

The God of Gluttony, Beelzebub. Her inheritance is yet to be taken. God of Wisdom, Raphael. Her inheritance is already taken. Most probably by Lucia. God of Deceit, Loki. No. It wasn't Loki whom I knew, rather the one who was trying to obtain it's inheritance. It was none other than Yuuki.

Then there were a few other inheritances as well, but I finally reached the top. There were three amongst which I had to choose. These three were the main choices that I had. God of Destruction, Shiva. God of Chaos, Apophis. God of Void, Nihilanthian.

These three are the only inheritance which are worth it. All three of them are First or Second Era Gods, and without a doubt, their inheritance should equally strong. But, out of these four, the one that suits me the most, would without a doubt be Nihilanthian, the God of Void. Even though I have sowed a lot of Chaos around the world and caused destruction, they weren't exactly my main aim. So I guess Nihilanthian is the only option.

But now that I think about it, my ultimate skill was «God of Void Azatoth» and not Nihilanthian. Are they different being or something? But isn't Chaos the same. Veldora had Lord of Chaos Nyarlathotep. It wasn't a God level skill, but still.

Oh well, I can discuss it later with Ciel. Thinking so, I decided to choose Nihilanthian. As soon as I touched it, a confirmatory message popped up which I replied with yes. As soon as I did that, I was once again teleported to another dimension.

At first everything around me was completely dark. But soon, this darkness was replaced by a long hall. With red carpet running along the floor and the high ceiling having orbs of light to illuminate the hall, it was without a doubt a place I knew very well.

This is the same castle that I spent my childhood in. The castle of the Sakura Empire. But, there was only one thing different. Or rather, extra. There were old mediaeval set of armour standing in attention along the walls on both sides.

As something that should not be here, I took a quick look at them. There was nothing about the Armor that was out of the ordinary. It was a normal metal Armor with a sword at its side and standing in attention. Even if this is based on my memories of my previous world, where did these armours come from? After looking around for a while, I found nothing wrong with them, so I decided to look around.

The hall extended as far as I could see. My magic sense also showed the same. There were other halls cutting this one perpendicularly every few hundred metres. The more I wish my magicules, the vaster it became. It was as if it was made of endless rows and columns of hallways.

I decided to take a look around, but before going, I slashed one of the armors, causing its upper half to fall onto the ground. After that, I walked in one of the direction and reached a crossroad. I took a right turn, and then another one and another one and finally a fourth one. I reached back to where I was with an Armor on the ground. Atleast there was no spatial magic in use here.

I then decided to do one more test. I continued to walk straight in one direction, and after exactly ten crossroad, I was back where I started. With this, I concluded that I was in a big box which extended nearly 5 corridors.

But what am I supposed to do now? Veldanava said that we will have to complete a mission or something. What do I do now? Should I try to break the walls? I coated my arm with magic, and punched the wall, but it didn't even budge. There wasn't even an indent left. Hmmmm..... What to do now?

I continued to think for a few minutes, which slowly became hours, but I couldn't come up with any plans.

"Hmm.... I guess that this is my last choice." I mutter out loud as I finally decided what to do.

??? POV

After waiting for so many years, someone has finally decided to enter my place. This is the second time someone has managed to come here. I wonder if he will have what it takes to meet me.

As I continued to watch the man with the white hair and sharp eyes, he moved around the eternal prison. After moving around in a circle and in a straight line and ending up at the same place, he stood in one place. Slowly seconds passed, then minutes and then hours, yet he did not move. Has he finally given up? Looks like he isn't that great. Maybe his predecessor really was the best choice.

"Hmm... I guess that this is my last choice." The man said as he opened his eyes and walked towards a wall.
