Rimuru threw himself on the bed as soon as he returned to the guest room. Everything that had happened today made him feel so exhausted, though it was a mental strain since he couldn't be physically exhausted to begin with.

The meeting with Lucia was the highlight of his day, but it was far from the only thing that had taken place in this chaotic, almost whimsical day. Another prominent thing was, of course, his newest daughter Shinsha.

He took a glance at her who was tiptoeing into the room. And by tiptoeing, Rimuru meant it. Shinsha was a klutz. Actually, that made sense. As this was her first time in her human form, she didn't seem to be familiar with her legs just yet.

It was cute and innocent, akin to watching a duckling take its first step. It reminded Rimuru of how he used to be in the past.

Although it was possible for him, when he was the Star King Dragon, to walk on his hind legs, Veldanava was a quadruped. It took him a while to adjust to being bipedal when he adopted a human form of his own.

Shinsha was experiencing the same thing, finding it difficult to walk on two legs after being a blob of slime for the entirety of her life, which was about a couple months.

She was quite strong herself from what he had seen in the training with the children. But wouldn't these clumsy movements be a demerit to her?

"Ack!" She demonstrated what Rimuru was thinking by tripping over her own foot and falling to the ground. This concerned his parental instinct a bit, but he halted himself from rushing to her side.

He was the one to say that falling was only natural and crucial for a child's developing brain. It would be hypocritical to go against it, especially after making that speech in front of Ciel.

She was unharmed and picked herself as if nothing had happened.

'Ciel, scan for any injury.'

«Master.»

'What?'

«She is your daughter; she will be fine.»

Although Ciel adored Shinsha as much as Rimuru did, she still possessed a practical mind.

There was no need to be concerned over a small misstep when the kid was tough as steel.

«It can feel claustrophobic if you keep on dotting her beyond the acceptable limit.»

'I know, but what if she doesn't experience fatherly love? You don't want her to have Lumi as a role model, right?'

Though he loved Luminous, Rimuru had to accept that the vampire was odd. This had nothing to do with her preference and had everything to do with how she illustrated that preference.

It was a good thing only Veldora had fallen for it so far. Let's keep it that way.

«Too much water is also a poison.»

Rimuru sighed, thinking that Ciel's words had some merits to it. 'Okay, okay, this time I will be reasonable in my approach.'

Entering closely were Shion and Ranga.

"You will hurt yourself if you don't be more careful," Shion spoke to the girl, acting like a wise mentor. However, Rimuru didn't think she took her own lessons seriously to begin with.

After all, this was Shion. She was the type to let her opponent hit her in order to counter. She was someone who the word barbaric couldn't fully cover all her absurd traits.

At least she looked competent while doing that. Meanwhile, Ranga was poking the side of her torso with his snout playfully, which she returned the favor by petting him.
