Made Me

Leon was told to stop being unreasonable, and it worked surprisingly well. To be able to turn someone as stoic as Leon into this laughable man, Chloe had such a strong influence on him. Because of her help, Rimuru was allowed to roam free once again. First, he wanted to retrieve his Manas. They had been separated from him for long enough. And by "enough", he meant thirty minutes.

They had gone ballistic as soon as Rimuru got replaced. They were very, very, volatile. Since Manas were emotion-driven creatures, this volatile nature made them as powerful as they were scary. Well, Rimuru could keep them under control most of the time. It was only in a rare case like this one when the situation could have ended in a tragedy.

Rimuru would scold them for their antics, but not now. If anything, both of them deserved to be pampered after what had happened. But before that, he had to find and bring them back first. And since the nearest one to him was Rael, let's begin with him. He was with Rain.

"Oh, so Shinsha is my daughter? I should have known the moment I saw that slime. I mean, of course, the slime that is sentient will be mine."

"I knew that she was yours, so I made sure to buddy up with her. I call it an early investment."

"Are you sure? Because it sounds like you became her friend due to your ulterior motive."

"Aw, you know me well, Rimuru-san."

While Rimuru was on his way to retrieve Rael, he was talking with Chloe. She asked to tag along with a strange enthusiasm. And since he had no reason to turn her down, Rimuru had allowed Chloe and Shinsha to come with him. Rimuru only wanted to speak about one thing, his new daughter, of course. A parent would always be a parent.

Rimuru took notes of how she carried his daughter. If she could get along with his daughter, then she would be fine. That was the most crucial factor Rimuru looked for in his partner. He thought that Lucia probably did a scan for him already. But there was nothing wrong with double checking.

"That wasn't at all a praise. Do you know that?"

"If you believe in it enough, anything can be interpreted as praise," said Chloe. This girl was really an odd one, but it wasn't like Rimuru hadn't run into anyone like this before.

His wife (Lucia) and girlfriend (Ciel) were like that. He could handle one more, hopefully.

"You are so weird. An entertaining level of weirdness, I might add."

"Ehe."

Rimuru reached out to pet Chloe's head, which she seemed to enjoy. It was the feeling she had been longing for. This interaction alone made all the time traveling she had done felt worth it.

'Cute.'

"Umm, also, is it true that you made out with my wife? I'm just curious."

"That's true," Chloe said without a hint of shame. In fact, she didn't even hesitate.

"Really? Are you just going to admit to it like that?"

"Yeah. I have nothing to hide." She moved closer to Rimuru and nuzzled his shoulder. "I did refer to her as my girlfriend, but not often. Oh, and I mean a girlfriend, not just a girl friend."

"Quite a life - or afterlife - that woman has been living."

"But I love you more."

Chloe explained that although Lucia hit on women a lot up there, she appeared indifferent to men. "She said her heart belongs to one man only, but other women are fair games. Though she only goes after those that she believes she can convince to join her family."
