(MIA POV)
The perfect date for Charlotte. I'd thought long and hard about what we would do if she ever said yes. It would have to be something sentimental and sweet, just like her. That's why I'd decided to recreate the evening we'd spent together after she took me to go see my mum.I went and picked up some groceries to remake my "world famous" sandwiches. I grabbed the nicest bottle of wine I could find and picked up some chocolate covered strawberries. Of course, I'm making sure to grab the 3 major chocolate flavors: milk, dark, and white chocolate.
The last thing I needed was a bouquet of black roses and a load of black rose petals. I knew I had candles at the house, so I didn't bother going to buy more. I was just about to head back to the car to go and set everything up when I passed a shop window and something inside caught my eye.
Immediately, my mind went to Charlotte when I saw them. Two identical necklaces. One for her, and the other for me? Was it too early for jewelry? They were simple but beautiful. She had to have it, and I had to buy it for her.
I ran in and bought the necklaces, then rushed back to my house to get everything perfect.
I walked in, put the groceries away, and grabbed a vase for the flowers. I took my time to set everything up perfectly and tried to make sure it was a storybook moment that she would remember for a long time. Taking a look around at the finished product, I was hit with an intense realization.
Charlotte was coming over tonight.
No, Char was coming over for a date... with me...
No, no, my Sweetheart and I were going to be alone in a romantic setting. She doesn't just want to talk all night like last time, which I think means she wants something more intimate. And, just to reiterate, she's coming over for a date TONIGHT.
Oh, God. I think I'm panicking.
I was already dressed for the evening, but I was feeling an overwhelming amount of stress thinking about it. My mind was racing, and I was second-guessing all of the choices I had made when planning this. I heard the doubt in the back of my mind telling me that she didn't really want to come over. It was driving me crazy.
Pacing back and forth for a minute, I heard my phone go off on the dining table. I walked over to it and read a message from Char. It said, "Stopping at mine to change and grab spare clothes. Headed your way after. Can't wait to see you."
She couldn't wait to see me? Reading the message brought me back to reality. I thought to myself, "If she didn't want yo see you, then she would've canceled. If she didn't like you, then she wouldn't answer your messages." I took a deep breath and calmed myself slowly. "The evening is perfect, and she will love it."
Just keep repeating that, Mia. She'll be here soon.
(CHAR POV)
I pulled up in front of Mia's house and turned off my car. I sat there for just a couple of minutes preparing myself for what was going to happen next with her.I knew I was ready to take the next step and be intimate with her, but I was still nervous. Becoming so aware of my own body and starting to bring myself down. What if she didn't feel for me as I did for her? Would I be pretty enough for her? What if I'm not good at the bedroom antics like she is? Did she even want me?
"Stop it, Charlotte." I thought to myself. "She's becoming a better person just to be with you. That alone should prove how much she cares for you. Don't be nervous. Just go inside."
I grabbed my things and walked up to her door. I reached out to knock but saw a note on the door instead that was addressed to me.
Opening it up to read, it said, "Follow the petals, Sweetheart." With a heart at the bottom of the page. I smiled and pushed the door open.
