*A/N- I feel like I've been really putting you guys in your sad feels the last few days. Here's something more lighthearted for you. And yes, the letters to the Knight siblings will be the next 2 posts. Happy reading! Enjoy!
(MIA POV)
I changed into some pajamas and climbed into bed. Char and I were still on facetime talking about anything and everything. We weren't concerned about the time since it was fairly early for me, and she had the next day off."Okay, want to play a game of random questions?" I asked, leaning back on my pillow.
"Absolutely. How do we decide who goes first?"
I thought for a moment and said, "Okay. I'm thinking of a number between 1 and 5. If you guess it, then you go first."
She didn't take any time before answering, "3."
"I didn't even say 'go'. How did you already have an answer?" I asked, confused because not only she guessed quickly, but she guessed the right number.
She laughed, "You always pick 3. Unless it's between 1 and 10, then you pick 5 or 8. It's always a middle number."
I huffed. I never realized I did that. I rolled my eyes, "Well, since you guessed it, you get to ask first."
"Hmm," she tapped her chin, pretending to think about what she wanted to ask. "What was your first job?"
"That's a good one, actually. I thought you were going to ask me something childish," I laughed, and she glared. "When I was a teenager, I had a lot of odd jobs that I did. I think my first one was babysitting for the neighbors. Cute kids, very sweet from what I remember. That's how I ended up getting my nursery qualifications."
"Really? I always assumed you were just thrown in when you arrived."
"No, I actually did all the courses with Reecey. The plan was to work for Roger, and then when we were ready, take over the nurseries."
She was shocked, "I didn't realize you liked working with kids that much."
I smiled at her, "Truthfully, I love it, but I do prefer the business side of things more."
"Of course, you do. It's your turn. Hit me with your toughest question." She said, feeling confident in her ability to handle whatever question I asked.
"If you could be anything in the world, have any job, do whatever you wanted... what would you do?" I asked.
Her confidence fell. "Hey! I started with something easy," she whined.
I laughed at her and said, "It's not even a hard one. Just answer the question. Take your time if you have to." I leaned over and took a drink while she thought about it.
When she was finally ready to answer, she said, "Okay. I've got it."
"I'm listening."
She shrugged her shoulders, "I wouldn't want to do anything else."
I gave her an "Are you being serious?" look.
She responded with, "Yes, I'm being serious. There's just something so fulfilling about working with the children. We are the key people who help set the tone for the rest of their lives. We teach them how to be independent, kind, and thoughtful humans. There's nothing more thrilling than that." Char was beaming talking about it.
The way she talked about her job gave me the same feelings as when she talked about her children. No matter how bad her day could be at work or how many things had happened over the years, she still loved it. It was her passion, and I was envious of her for finding it so easily.
