*A/N- Not going to lie, I'm pretty sure I'm just in love with Mia. Like if she was a real person, I'd totally be trying to find her and wife her up. Nothing to do with this chapter, mostly to do with the videos I keep rewatching of Mialotte. Anyway, enough rambling. Happy reading! Enjoy!
(MIA POV)
I woke up at midnight in a panic. My heart was racing. I was sweating. I felt like I couldn't breathe. I shot up very quickly and put my hand on my chest. I couldn't figure out where I was and had to look around the room to remember. It was dark, but the streetlamp outside put enough light into the bedroom. My bedroom. The events of last night started to replay in my mind. My date with Charlotte. Giving her the gift. The conversations of the evening.
Taking a closer look around the room, I also remembered the activities we'd engaged in only a couple of hours earlier. All our clothes were thrown about the room. I saw it all play out in my head as I looked at each item. It all played in slow motion. Every piece of clothing we took off. Every kiss. Every touch.
I looked over to the other side of the bed and realized it was empty. When I had fallen asleep, Charlotte was sleeping on my chest already, so I knew she'd stayed afterward. I could feel myself rethinking everything from the night before. "Was it too much too soon? Did I do something to make her leave? Where the hell did she go?"
Checking my phone, I saw no messages from her saying she'd left, so maybe she was still in the house. There was one from Reece about a funds transfer for the money I'd asked for. I sent Peter a quick message to make sure he'd received it and then grabbed a threw my legs over the side of the bed.
I waited to get up until my heart had settled, and then grabbed a big t-shirt and headed downstairs.
"Charlotte? Are you here?" I called put in the dark. No answer. I looked around the kitchen and the lounge, not seeing her anywhere. I got frustrated with myself and kicked the wall. "Way to go, Amelia. You probably scared her off." I sat in the sofa and put my head in my hands.
"Scared who off?" I heard a soft voice from the shadows, a small laugh followed. "I hope you're not talking about me." Putting my hands down and taking a closer look, I saw it was her.
I sighed in relief, "Sweetheart, thank God. I thought you'd left. I woke up, and the bed was empty, and then I came down here and couldn't find you either." I said, my voice sounding more hurt than I'd wanted to admit.
She walked over to me and sat down, wrapping her arms around my neck. "Why would you think I'd left in the middle of the night? Especially after all the dirty things we just did." She winked at me and kissed my cheek. I looked closer at her, and she was wearing one of my oversized jumpers.
"I'm not sure. I thought maybe I did something to make you uncomfortable or that you weren't as ready as you'd thought." I turned my head away slightly, "It was a lot all at once, so I'll understand if that's it."
She grabbed the side of my face with one hand and said, "Amelia, it was wonderful. You were kind and gentle and so reassuring. I'd never been more relaxed in my life." She smiled at me.
"I'm happy you enjoyed yourself then. I did, too." I bit my lip thinking about it, and then asked, "Wait, so where did you go then?"
"I just needed some water, and then I couldn't go back to sleep, so I decided to clean up the stuff from last night. I didn't want to wake you. You just looked so peaceful. Like a little doll." She said, fixing my hair behind my ear.
"Well, I didn't wake up that way a minute ago." I said quietly.
"What do you mean?" She asked, concerned. "Did something happen?"
