No-ones POV
It was morning time and Taylor was plating up breakfast for everyone. Travis was on the quiet side and Ellie hadn't yet been seen. Harper was her usual bubbly self. "Harps, could you go and tell Ellie that breakfast is ready?" Taylor asked and Harper ran upstairs.
As soon as the toddler walked into Ellie's room she noticed the teen curled up in her bed sobbing, on the phone to someone. She seemed really hurt. The toddler knew to not speak to someone while they're taking on the phone so instead she went over and hugged her older sister.
Eventually Ellie put down the phone and hugged her back, now sobbing. Harper reached up and wiped away the girl's tears before giving her a kiss on the cheek. "Love you Ellie."
Ellie nodded and continued to cry.
"What is taking so long Harper? You better not be in your room playing!" Taylor yelled as she came up the stairs. Harper's head popped up when she heard the door open and soon enough Taylor walked in. Her serious face dropped to sadness when she saw Ellie.
Taylor managed to get harper to leave Ellie's side and quickly made her way over to the teen. "What happened sweetie?" She asked, moving back a loose strand of Ellie's hair. Ellie immediately turned toward Taylor and just clung to her, letting out all of the emotions she was feeling.
"He broke up with me mom." She whispered. Taylor had no idea who "he" is but she didn't bother asking. She knew that talking about it and bringing him up would upset Ellie more so instead so just held onto her and let her cry.
Meanwhile Travis was downstairs still miserable as ever. He was waiting patiently for Taylor to come downstairs and eat with him but she never did. Finally just before lunch time she came down. "Hey what's wrong?" She asked, placing her hand on Travis' back as she walked past.
Travis shrugged, he had so much that he wanted to say but he just couldn't. He knew that he would upset her. He just stayed quiet.
There is only so far that Taylor can take the silent treatment before she asks too much and pushes too far. And she did exactly that.
"Taylor, you said that we were spending today together. I've not even seen you this morning. I wouldn't even care if you communicated and told me why." He explained. Taylor suddenly realized what he meant.
She was supposed to go out with him in the morning and spend the day with him but she had kind of lost track of time. Then again he had no reason to talk, he had gone out the whole day the the day before and only got back when she was asleep.
"Travis, you were out all day yesterday and I was asleep when you got in! Did I get all miserable with you? No I didn't!" She snapped. She normally wouldn't but their relationship hadn't been too great recently and she didn't have the patience. This erupted into a whole argument over how little they see each other. Travis declared that he thought Harper had taken over their life too much and that Taylor shouldn't be allowing it.
The whole reason for the argument was that both of them missed spending time together and just hadn't seen each other enough. They can't keep a sane relationship when they can't even spend time together every now and then. Both Taylor and Travis had been holding back all of these emotions for way too long.
Eventually Taylor watched as Travis got up and walked out, slamming the door behind him. She tried to follow but she knew she shouldn't. Instead she grabbed the handle for a minute, processing her emotions before dropping to the floor, back to the door sobbing.
She couldn't believe he would walk out on her, he swore to never leave her. She took a moment on the floor to try and steady the shock and shortened breaths that seemed unstoppable. The tightness in her chest was worse than anything she had ever felt. She wanted Travis to come back and hold her and tell her he's sorry just like he formally would. This time it didn't seem like she would get that. Then she heard a little voice. "Mommy you come play!"
Harper came over looking for her mommy, confused to find her also crying. She frowned a little before climbing into her lap and hugging her. "It's okay mama. All okay. I going to find daddy instead!" She told her which caused Taylor to cry worse.
"Hes just gone out sweetheart, he's probably on the car by now. You go play." She told Harper who got up and stepped aside. Taylor also got up and went to find Ellie, she needed to go and sit with someone who understood her feelings.
Harper, being the little menace that she is, decided to run out of the door and down the stairs to the apartment block. She found Travis at the bottom calling for a lift to Jason's house. "Daddy! Daddy, wait, need help!" She yelled, stumbling over and reaching for him.
"What's up tiny?" He asked, picking her up. She could tell that he had also been crying but she didn't care, she wanted him to help her mommy. She looked so stressed and scared and worried all at once.
"Mommy cry badly and she was sat on floor and she not breathing good. Need help. Help mommy." She begged. At this point the poor girl was starting to panic herself, she had no idea why everyone was so upset and she just wanted everything to have worked out.
Travis suddenly felt horrible, to hear how harper found taylor made him wonder if he had actually made the right decisions in walking away. He knew he should have stayed and talked it out with her instead of yelling back and now Taylor was a mess.
It was undeniable they both loved each other more than anyone knew so to have such a horrible argument was hard on both of them. Travis immediately ran back upstairs and into the apartment, still holding Harper.
Meanwhile, Taylor spent a good few minutes talking to Ellie, showing her that arguments and breakups happen to everyone and that not everything can always be perfect. She couldn't talk about it too much though, the pain in her chest was getting worse and she needed to be alone. She needed to allow herself to break down and not worry about the teen seeing.
As soon as she closed Ellie's door she broke down into quiet sobs, taking any possible chance she could to try breathing deeply but it wasn't working for her. As soon as she turned towards her room and started walking away she heard footsteps. She presumed it was harder but she was in fact wrong. "Tay, Taylor! Tay I'm here and I'm sorry." Travis told her from the other side of the hallway.
The blonde turned around, tears streaming down her face which once had been perfectly done up but now had streaks in her makeup. She let out one last sob before Travis put the toddler down and pulled her into a tight hug. She returned it, her lady hand grabbing her right from behind his back while she let every last emotion go.
"I'm so sorry Travis, Ellie has been through a breakup and I was focusing on her and I should have told you I'm so sorry, please just don't leave me." She begged. Travis held her tighter.
They both knew they had a lot of talking to do and a lot of patucking up to do with how much their relationship had been falling apart but they didn't care. As long as they both stayed they were fine to work through everything. Both of them just had to accept that their lives aren't the same as they used to be and sometimes that happens. They just couldn't let things get in the way.
