Taylor's pov

Travis pulled the car up outside the building where the police had said they found both girls. I thought the address had sounded familiar but I did not expect to be parked outside of Ellie's apartment building. I slowly turned to Travis, anger burning inside me. "Come on." He said quietly. He pulled my hand up and kissed it.

"I might stay here... I'll do something that I'll regret if I go in there." I mumbled. Travis wrapped an arm around me.

"I think Harper is going to want her mommy, I won't let you do anything. I promise." He told me And I nodded. We both got out of the car and headed inside. As we got to the correct floor police walked us over to the apartment door. They informed us that Ellie seemed a complete mess and that Harper had run and hidden when they came in and that they couldn't get her out from underneath the bed.

We headed into the apartment and Ellie was on the sofa in handcuffs speaking to the police. A few of them were trying to keep her calm while the other asked questions. She hadn't been eating, I could tell but she didn't have enough money for food. Which means my baby was probably starving too.

Travis and I headed to the bedroom where a police officer was trying to talk Harper out of the bed. I knelt down by the side of the bed before laying on my tummy and looking at Harper. She was shaking uncontrollably and her little thumb was in her mouth as a failed attempt to soothe herself. Reaching out my arm I placed it right by her and watched as she slowly moved her hand to wrap around one of my fingers. "It's me, I came to get you baby. Come here you're okay." I whispered.

Her little head shook and she backed away even more however she kept a tight hold on my finger. Loud yelling and screaming could be heard causing Harper to flinch and hit her head on the bed before covering her ears. "I'll be back, baby girl. Try to come out for me though." I told her before running into the living room.

They were trying to take Ellie out to the police vans and she was screaming and kicking and breaking down. I looked down at her boot and realized it probably wasn't the best thing for her to be doing. Despite everything I've been her mom for so long and I couldn't just watch it happen she may have broken my trust and hurt me badly as well as hurting my family but I wasn't going to send her to jail or let her get hurt.

"Stop! She's got a torn ligament put her down. I'm not pressing charges, they're sisters, it's fine we can deal with this alone. It's a family matter. Harper isn't going to leave the bed while you're all here either." I demanded. They put Ellie down the floor and nodded, leaving as quickly as possible. Ellie stayed frozen on the floor crying but I turned away and went back to the bedroom.

"Come for some cuddles baby. I've missed you." I said softly. Harper slid a tiny bit closer but she looked so weak. I couldn't reach her to bring her out myself because she had flinched right to the wall. Travis thankfully came in and lifted the bed, allowing me to shuffle closer on my stomach and pull her out. As I sat up she pulled away and backed into the corner.

"What's going on princess tell me what's going on in your mind." I pushed. She looked down at the floor.

"Ellie said you not my mommy and you're mean and trying to hurt us. She said you just wanted me so you can get more fame." She told me, breaking down into tears. I reached my ark over to hug her but she tensed and cried worse. This filmed me with rage as I got up and headed to the living room.

Travis wrapped his arms around my waist from behind and pulled me close to him, not letting me take another step in there. He didn't even say anything, he just held me tightly in silence while I relaxed. He eventually let me go and I wandered over to Ellie who was on the floor. I knelt in front of her and as I looked into her eyes I completely broke down.

"You kidnapped her, manipulated her and starved her! What are you doing Ellie? Why are you doing this? I want to scream and yell at you but you're sick and I just don't know what I'm supposed to do with you anymore. She won't even come near me. You've taken my baby from me Ellie. Why are you doing this to me! Everything I've done for you and this is hope you repay me!" I sobbed. Travis came and sat beside me. Pulling me close.

Ellie finally snapped away from her thoughts and watched Travis and I both crying. Harper had no trust for either of us anymore and Ellie had completely broken the family. I couldn't forgive her for a long time but I could understand. She wasn't herself and she needed professional help.

"We will get you some help Ellie." I whispered before getting up and going to Harper. She was even worse than before and was sat in a puddle of pee.

"Awh baby come here. You're going to be just fine I promise. Mommy's got you now." I told her. Despite her cries I picked her up and headed to the bathroom. I noticed my hoodie that she had brought was sitting on the bed so I took it with me. Placing her down on the floor I cleaned her up then changed her into my hoodie before opening my arms. She hesitantly walked into me, not hugging back, just standing by me with her head on my shoulder.

Instead of scooping her up I gave her time to get used to me before placing one hand on her back. She immediately tensed up but she was getting weak so instead of moving my hand away I rubbed her back a little. She normally likes that. I could feel her getting tired so I picked her up slowly and played her on my hip.

Harper being her usual picky self moved herself around to my front and wrapped her arms around my neck. She was still tense and crying but god forbid I hold her on my hip. I made my way to where Travis and Ellie were sitting on the couch talking. She seemed a lot calmer and Travis was having a long chat with her. I couldn't hear what he was saying but she was nodding slowly every now and then. He handed her a few tissues and she wiped up her face.

"Uhm.. sorry. We need to get the little lady some food. She's getting a bit pale." I interrupted. Travis nodded and jumped up. We made our way to the door and Ellie looked over unsure of what to do.

I looked down at Harper then at Travis and sighed. "I think it's best you stay here for now." I said truthfully.
