Taylor's pov
I woke up in the night to hear banging and crying. Immediately I became concerned about Harper and what was going on so ran straight to her room. I turned on all the lights to see her room upside down and she was sitting in the middle pulling at her hair and clearly stressed. "Honey come here, come to mommy." I told her, holding out my hands.
There were millions of toys spread across the room so I couldn't really get to her without stepping on anything. She had much smaller feet and could have easily dodged them. She didn't seem to move though and let out some screams of frustration. "Harper, come tell mommy what's bothering you and what has upset you."
Eventually she made her way over, still sobbing and wiping her eyes. I had now knelt down in the doorway and she threw herself into my lap, sobbing even more. "I can't find it!" She yelled as she clung to me and cried worse.
"Can't find what?" I asked her. She just looked at me and cried more, apologizing over and over. Then I realized. I hadn't seen the pacifier, bear or hoodie since we got home and she didn't have them in the car on the way home.
I nodded a little and just stood up, now taking her hand. "Go get in my bed you don't need your bear and your hoodie if you have me do you?" I asked. She shook her head and made her way to my room while I went downstairs to grab a backup pacifier. While I was down there I heard a series of thuds followed by a piercing scream.
That was the stairs and it wasn't Travis falling down them.
I ran over straight away, now seeing Travis also making his way down the stairs too. Harper was sitting at the bottom confused and now screaming. Due to her sitting up it made it hard to tell if the screams were from pain or panic and shock. I presumed both and just scooped her up and took her to the sofa where I rocked her a little and kept her close.
I noticed blood had soaked into my shirt and immediately panicked myself, pulling her away and inspecting her for injuries. When I saw the blood coming from her mouth I immediately knew she had either busted a lip or was missing one or more teeth.
Let's just say it wasn't the preferred option.
It was both.
"Travis, there's soen popsicles in the freezer. Plus you possibly get one for me. She likes the blue ones." I told him, placing her down on the sofa and grabbing down tissues to hold against her mouth until Travis returned. By then her lip had stopped bleeding and I had her eat it slowly and rest it against the now swollen area.
There was still bleeding but at least the busted lip had been taken care of. Once she had calmed down a little I had her open her mouth up and I could see exactly where she had an issue. Both of her two little front teeth had vanished and it was way too early for her to be missing them.
I looked over at Travis who had brung in a bottle of water, now wondering what I was supposed to do with her. I could take her to an emergency doctor but they would just tell me to call the dentist in the morning and that would be a waste of time. Instead I decided to see if I could get the bleeding to stop myself then get her to bed and if it wouldn't stop I would take her.
I could feel myself beginning to panic and Travis must have noticed. I felt his hand gently rub my back, causing me to shuffle closer to him, still kneeling on the floor in front of Harper. I heard her cries starting to calm and thankfully the blood had stopped flowing so fast. It now only bled when pressure was applied to it.
I smiled a little and stood up, scooping her into my arms and starting to head upstairs. I could feel her gently playing with my hair behind my back, a sign that she was anxious and thinking about something. "No, wait." She whispered.
