Travis' pov

Once we had eaten I decided it was best to let Harper have a little run around. I had seen a park on the way to the hospital so I thought it would be a nice walk there and she could burn off some energy. I let her be independent and had her throw away her own trash then took her hand.

I had a quick visit into the hospital room to check on Taylor and Ellie. I informed Taylor of what I was doing, then got the car keys and headed there with harper. We always have a football in the car and I thought it would be fun to start teaching harper young. "Are you going to be a big girl and walk instead of me carrying you?" I asked her.

"Yes, silly. I'm always a big girl." She giggled, I felt her grab my hand which melted my heart. Harper and I don't get to spend much time together, so going to the park is fun for us both. She loves playing football with me and trying to catch the ball and run past me. 90% of the time she can't catch it but sometimes it happens and I just let her win.

It was a lot shorter of a walk than I thought and we got to the park at a great time. There was barely anyone around so we had a lot of space to run around. Out of myself and Taylor I'm the best at playing with kids, I can run around after them all day and I love doing that whereas she's too cautious. I understand why but I guess she just prefers to sit at a piano and try to teach them to sing or play an instrument.

She's better at drawing or playing with toys whereas I'm always in charge of playing outside. Maybe that's just so Taylor can have peace and quiet while we're out.

"Okay harper. Do you want to play football with me?" I asked her.

"Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! I'm going to catch it this time!" She squealed. I love how excited she gets about these things. She got ready in position. We don't play properly normally. I just tell her where she has to try getting to and tell her it's the end zone then make her back up, throw the ball and tell her she has to get past me and that I will try to stop her. It helps her practice catching and running.

I backed up and threw the ball not too hard. This time she actually caught it and started running. I gave her a head start then started to pretend trying to get it from her. When she reached the end zone I pretended to be out of breath and congratulated her.

We set back up again but this time just as she was about to step into the end zone I picked her up. "Got you!" I told her, causing her to burst into laughter.

"How about we play tag? You run and I'll try to catch you." I suggested. She nodded and jumped up and down for a while. She's honestly such a psycho sometimes, why jump up and down when I'm supposed to be trying to tag her.

"You're supposed to be running." I told her, laughing. Her face when she realized was priceless but I gave her a head start and watched her run across the field. After about a minute I started following, slowing myself so that she wouldn't get caught too fast.

Once I got her we headed to the play area part and I let her play around for a while. I got a few videos and pictures of her playing which I sent to Taylor then headed over. "Daddy push me on the swing please!" She begged.

It was starting to get dark and I knew she would be getting tired but I couldn't resist her little smile. I had missed her fun playful side so I agreed and pushed her. While I was doing so I got a reply from Taylor.

Tay 🥰
Did she bring a jacket? Her cheeks are so dead and you can see her breath. Make sure she's wrapped up because it's getting quite chilly.

Me
No she didn't but I'll give her my hoodie don't worry.

Tay 🥰
Perfect, I'll see you both soon. I think we might be going home late tonight or early tomorrow hopefully. We can discuss who stays with Ellie and who goes with Harper when you get back.

On that note I put it phone away and gave harper one last push, noticing her shivering with each swing. Once it stopped I picked her up and put her down on the floor, taking off my hoodie then putting it over her head. She couldn't even put her arms in the arm section and the hoodie was touching the floor but it was an adorable sight.

Using the arms of the hoodie I wrapped her up all nice and cozy then put the hood up a tiny bit, just enough to still see her face. "Okay we're going to walk back." I informed her.

This caused a whole meltdown including tears, running off and screaming. I never really dealt with the tantrums so at first I panicked but then I remembered how well I know her. "Okay, harper look at me. Is this because you don't want to walk?" I asked. She slowly nodded and cried more.

"You should have just said. I'll carry you." I told her, picking her up and heading to the exit. I felt her cuddle up close and I knew she was closing her eyes. She was pretty much asleep within minutes so when I saw a crowd of men in black with cameras I paused.

I pulled the hoodie over her head even more to cover her up fully. I didn't want the paparazzi seeing her when she's so tired and I didn't want the lights to disturb her. I managed to get through but unfortunately the noise had disturbed her. I could hear her whining and she started to look around.

"Go back to sleep, we're almost at the hospital." I whispered. I could feel myself getting cold but at least she was warm. Thankfully it wasn't much further and when we got into the hospital Taylor and Ellie were at the entrance waiting for us. Neither of them were speaking but at least Ellie was coming with us.

"That child absolutely baffles me." Taylor said when she looked at her. I laughed and handed her off to Taylor, knowing she prefers to sleep against Taylor.

"What would you do if you woke up as Harper one day? She has such a crazy personality." I asked Taylor and Ellie. It's genuinely a question I a think about sometimes.
