Taylor's pov
Over a time span of a few months now harpers anxiety has been getting evidently worse and was beginning to worry both myself and Travis. At the most random moments she could have a flashback which would cause a huge setback to our day. Usually if she had a flashback she would just feel uncomfortable for the whole day and seemed overly concerned about her safety and what was going to happen to her.
We had no idea where they were stemming from as it was recently and she hadn't suffered with it once she left home. This made it hard to understand how it had suddenly become so severe. We had begun therapy however she didn't seem to be sharing anything and would just become mute. This way something that had become new to her also. Anyone who spoke to her that wasn't me or Travis she would just go mute.
Just as I was abiut to leave to go on stage for a show I noticed her zoned out and beginning to cry. Another flashback. I reassured her and calmed her as best as I could before my final call. Feeling awful for leaving her in a sobbing mess I ran to the stage.
During my speech before lover I made sure to warn the crowd. "I just want to say that I have a child, and she's going through a lot right now. When I left to perform she was upset and her daddy isn't here to calm her down so if she needs to come have a cuddle then she may have to come up here, please please try not to scream if she does. Can you all do that for me?" I smiled when they erupted in screams and yelling. That meant yes.
During enchanted I could see my mom walk out to the tent still trying to calm harper. She was pointing me out to her but nothing was working. My poor baby looked terrified and absolutely defeated. I looked directly at my mom and signaled for her to make her way to the side of the stage.
Once she did I waited for a quick instrumental part before walking over and reaching out an arm to take harper from her. "Taylor you're performing it will ruin the show." She told me but I didn't listen.
"She needs me mom! My baby needs me." I told her as I desperately took the small girl from my mom and walked back to my microphone. I kept her close to me as I sung the song, slowly swaying from side to side and rubbing her back a little. Her cries were silent but the fast and shaky breaths that she had been taking showed the pain she was in. I noted in my head to ask her about what's bothering her so much later.
Once the song had ended I looked down at harder who was resting her head against the space between my chest and shoulder. Her hand was gently pressed against my chest right where she could feel for my heartbeat. She often did this to regulate her breathing as she could feel the rise and fall of my breathing but also my steady heartbeat too. It usually helped her to know that I was there.
I quickly made my way back to where my mom was standing at the side and handed Harper off. I could hear her whining but I quickly hushed her and kissed the top of her head before walking away to continue the show.
It was later on at night when I realized that for the first time ever around me she wasn't speaking or replying. Anything I would say or ask resulted in either a blank expression, a nod or the head or a shake of the head. This was becoming extremely concerning to me and I hated it. I wanted my lively baby back. Instead she was slipping away from me.
Once she was settled down to sleep I called Travis, alerting him of the situation and explaining her meltdown about a flashback and how long it had lasted too. We agreed that something really must have happened to cause this and clearly something wasn't right in her head.
This continued for a few weeks until we took her to a therapy session. She had been permanently mute for 3-4 weeks and myself and Travis were beginning to really worry. This was the last thing that we had expected from her bubbly personality. We had even tried taking her to see Jason and the kids but even then all she did was cry and stay by me.
