Taylor's pov
After hours and hours of crying and screaming eventually Travis gave in and brought her to our room. She had even kept Ellie awake and it wasn't fair at all for her so the final time she woke up crying at 3:30 after about 15 minutes of quiet he came wandering in holding her hand. We still hadn't managed to even get her in some pajamas so she must have been so cold too.
He brought her blankie and her bear and also the weighted blanket since she seemed to like that recently. Travis got into bed and she struggled to climb up while crying and begging for me so I hatefully lifted her up and put her in the middle. She settled down quite easily but it definitely wasn't the last time she woke up that night.
She woke up again at about 5am crying and wanting the old apartment back and I had no idea what I was supposed to say. The apartment was still there and we could go back but I really wanted this new place to work for us. At that point I was so tired that I just took the easy way out and reached over to grab a pacifier before handing it to her and closing my eyes to get some sleep. Thankfully she was completely out for the rest of the night after that.
We slept in quite late and had a nice late breakfast too. Breakfast is the only meal that I can actually get Harper to eat every single day as she always has lucky charms. I know that we need to change it up and give her something healthier but for now it's food and that's all that matters.
I couldn't tell if it was good that she was a bit tired and quiet for the day as it meant no meltdowns or if it meant she would kick off even more but the morning seemed to be okay. Travis had a podcast episode to film and I needed to go to the store so I decided to give her the option. Ellie was coming too so we would most likely end up going shopping too.
"Okay harper. Mommy and Ellie are going out shopping, daddy is going to be filming a podcast episode so you can either come with me and Ellie or you can stay home and watch tv until daddy is done. Which one would you prefer to do?" I asked her. She shrugged and looked between Travis and I. She had been getting closer with Travis too recently and she hates picking between us but at the same time if I let her choose she wouldn't cry if me and Ellie went without her.
I saw her point at me and slowly came closer to me so I let her join us. We headed straight to Target. I had been doing some research so I knew what I wanted and where to find them. Of course we stopped at Starbucks and Ellie and I got some coffee while Harper got a refresher. I was trying to keep her on my good side because she wasn't going to like me when she didn't eat her lunch.
We got there and I found the PediaSure kids nutrient shakes with ease. I had Harper in the cart playing with the drawstrings on my hoodie and Ellie was browsing elsewhere nowhere to be seen. "Harpie, what flavor milkshake do you want me to get you?" I asked her.
I pointed to the chocolate, vanilla and strawberry options. "Pink please." She told me so I nodded and got 2 packs of 3. I pushed her to the section where Ellie was and she had a collection of things that she had found and wanted. I smiled and let her put them in the cart. We also headed to the stationary section and got some paper for drawing and some new pens and coloring books.
We didn't end up staying out for too long because we wanted to get back for lunch and Ellie and Harper wanted to pop into the podcast and say hi. We got in and I sent them to go say hi while I made sandwiches for everyone. I took one over to Travis and he smiled, waving me over to say hi. I have never really made a podcast appearance but I guess if the girls were in it and Travis wanted me to say hi then why not. I handed him the sandwich and a drink. "Hello, sorry to disturb. Come on girls lunch time." I told them.
They both followed me to the kitchen where we sat together and Harper tried a bite but defied afterwards and claimed that she didn't like it. I tried to push her a bit further but she refused and strayed getting upset. She was also way too over tired. "Okay so you can eat your sandwich or you drink the whole milkshake okay?" I told her, putting a bottle of PediaSure kids in front of her. She frowned and pointed to the protein shake.
I nodded and shook it then poured it into a glass for her. She hesitantly took a sip then looked at me in disgust. I stayed very strong though. "No you can drink it, you need that and even if you don't like it you have to drink it. Even if you decide to eat your sandwich I want you to drink one of those later in the afternoon because we need to make you grow." I told her.
I tried to use a more playful tone to encourage her and I jokingly poked her tummy but she wasn't catching on. She just wanted to sleep. "If I put it in a bottle and let you drink it on the sofa while we cuddle, will you drink it all for me? And I want you to have a snack later too." She nodded and just made her way over to the sofa.
Ellie thanked me for lunch then went to speak to Harper. I think she was talking her into having the shake. I could hear her explaining how worried everyone was for her and how we are trying to help. She's not wrong. I poured the shake into a bottle then put on a Disney movie and handed her the bottle. Thankfully she managed to drink it all before cuddling close and falling asleep. At least I had gotten somewhere and some nutrients in her body.
