Taylor's pov

I stayed with Ellie for a while longer until Travis finally came into the living room. He saw the tears on Ellie's face and the ice on her foot and he was immediately by her side. I let Ellie explain what happened and it's safe to say she was distraught, she knew it meant no dance until it's better and she was finding the pain unbearable.

"El, can I leave you with Travis? I just want to check in on Harper and watch for a bit up there. I will be right back though." I told her. She slowly turned to look at me and nodded. I could see her forced smile. I placed a kiss on the top of her head before getting up and heading upstairs where Harper was making a racket with her tap shoes. I will definitely be hiding them when she isn't wearing them.

The dance teacher was looking slightly stressed and taken back. She had been silent the whole class and was now a completely different child. I chuckled as I walked into the room and headed over to where there were a couple of chairs in the corner. "Okay so if you copy me Harper.. no no copy me please. We do not need to jump so aggressively." The teacher said, starting to give up.

"Harper, if you listen you can have chicken nuggets for dinner." I told her. Her eyes widened and she immediately stopped and did as she was told. The class ended soon after and I paid the kind lady before showing her to the door. The first thing I did was take the tap shoes off Harper's feet and send her to go tell Travis about her dance class.

While she bothered Travis I sat by Ellie again and placed my hand on her shoulder. "How is it feeling?" I asked quietly. She was looking exhausted and in absolute agony. She looked up at me with fresh tears in her eyes and lay her head down on me before starting to cry. I gently rubbed her arm and held her close.

"It's completely up to you? Do you want to go and get it checked out or not? It's pretty swollen and looks quite bruised." I told her. She shrugged and put an arm around me. Harper must have noticed because she looked over and was now trying to make her way over and climb on me.

I tried to guide her back to Travis but she started pushing Ellie and trying to get to me. I shook my head but then she started hitting Ellie. I managed to catch her hands thankfully and Travis picked her up and sat down with her. "Baby, Ellie is hurt, you can't hit her, she wants some cuddles. I can cuddle you later." I explained. She of course stomped off to her room mad.

Ellie tried to sit up but I held her tighter.

"Don't let her upset you." I told her and she nodded a little before relaxing against me again. I stayed like this for a while but after a second look at her foot/ankle Travis and I decided it would be best to have it looked over just in case. She was quite annoyed about that but we didn't give her too much of a choice.

"Please I can't be out of dance please I can't get it checked!" She begged. Ellie started trying to get up and when she did and finally stood up on her foot she almost fell to the floor in pain. Thankfully I grabbed her arm to keep her up and Travis managed to scoop her up easily and head to the car. I opened each door for him then let him put her in before jumping in the driver's seat.

"You stay home with Harper, I'll keep you updated." I told him and he nodded. He wished us good luck and watched as I pulled away from the driveway. He headed inside and we made our way to the hospital. I would have stayed back with Harper but I didn't want to be dealing with her when she's grouchy and jealous. I'd rather sit in the hospital for hours waiting for an X-ray.

When I say we were in the hospital for hours I mean we were in there for hours. The first set of X-ray results were not clear enough so they waited an hour with ice on the ankle before taking some more. We ended up being in there for over 4 hours, that isn't including the time it takes to get there and back. We completely missed dinner and wandered into the house at about 9:45.

I was exhausted and Ellie was in so much pain. Thankfully there were no broken bones however she unfortunately managed to tear a ligament not too massively but it was still torn. She had a boot now and was recommended to use crutches for weight bearing. She refused those as she is still determined that nothing is wrong and that she's fine and can walk so she wants to prove herself. If she gets more hurt then it's on her.

I put my purse down on the side and took off my shoes before throwing myself on the couch and closing my eyes. I felt so much exhaustion, I'm sure it's because of the moving house and everything that has happened recently. Harpers meltdowns have been getting more and more exhausting for us all and because I'm the only one who can calm her down it all ends up on me.

I just couldn't wait to finally get some time away with my friends and family, in hoping that our yacht trip will give me some time to relax as harper should be fully entertained. I can only hope though. I must have been deep in thought because I felt Travis pick me up, maybe he thought I was asleep.

I opened my eyes and looked at him and he smiled, walking upstairs. I felt him lay me down in bed before sitting beside me. "I've got food on the day, you need to relax and it's still early so how about we eat some food and watch a movie. Harper is in bed. I put the baby gate on her door and I've turned off the monitor, she can cry it out tonight you're exhausted Tay. I've got Ellie some food on the way too and given her some pain medicine so you can just lay here and relax and after dinner I'll run you a warm bath and you can have an early night." He told me.

I almost cried at how sweet he was being. He just always knows what I need and when and I love that about him. I nodded a little and reached for the remote which he quickly grabbed and put on gray's anatomy before heading down the hall to tell Harper to get to sleep. Our door was open and so was hers so we could hear her clearly in our room. The mom side of me was desperate to just scoop her up and hold her so tightly but Travis wouldn't let me. I could hear him as he was talking to her.

"Harper lie down and go to sleep please, no it's bedtime. Back in bed please we will see you in the morning." He told her which caused her to start wailing. He just walked away and went downstairs to see her. Due to our door being right in the center at the end of the hallway and hers being on the right at the other end, the positioning of our bed made me see her little face popping out from her door and looking into our room. It took everything in me to just focus on the tv and not listen. I didn't want to start an argument with Travis today.

I was so desperate to just jump up and cuddle her and calm her down but I guess letting her cry it out is just part or sleep training. There will always be worse days. Travis came up with the food and we closed our door and ate together, no longer able to hear Harper then he ran me a bath and let me relax there for a while. While I did that he continued to try to calm Harper down and also checked up on Ellie to make sure she didn't need anything.

I threw on one of his T-shirts then routed through the pajama drawer for some shorts before heading to bed where we cuddled and watched a movie. I couldn't hear harper whatsoever but my body was telling me I needed to go to her. It's like I knew she needed me and it was so weird because I've never felt that way before in my life.

I tried to shake it off and just go to sleep but I couldn't do it. She needed me and I could sense it.
