CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO

"How is your subordinate's training? Are they getting any improvements?" rinig kong tanong ni Axel.

Nagkaroon ng mahabang katahimikan sa pagitan ng dalawa kanina. Akala ko nga ay tapos na silang mag-usap. Akala ko ay sa wakas makakatulog na ako, pero malinaw pa rin pala ang mga boses nilang dalawa. At malinaw na hindi pa sila tapos sa pag-uusap nila.

"You've seen the seniors who got injured, right? They are doing well. While the newbies are still in training, they can take it slow. Really. Mateo sighed loudly, loud enough for me to even know it despite just listening to their voices.

"I am not tired, Mateo."

"Your body might be not, but your mind sure is tired. Everyone around you, especially the ones who know you best, can tell it by just watching you." Isa na namang panandaliang katahimikan ang dumating sa dalawa, at ilang segundo rin ang lumipas ay muling nagsalita si Mateo, "I must leave. I left vampire blood in your kitchen, in the refrigerator. You have that human with you anyway so you will have enough human blood... Rest, and I will take care of the Supreme about this matter."

"Mateo! Please, do not tell the Supreme yet."

"Why? Do you intend to lie longer to the Supreme about that human? Won't you get rid of him?"

Axel's voice sounds defensive. He seems to be trying his best to convince Mateo. Para bang alam niya na hindi ito basta-basta papayag sa gusto nito unless he give him a proper reason.

Hindi ko na narinig pa na sumagot si Mateo, imbes ay naiwan na lang ang isa na namang malalim at malakas na buntong-hininga. This time I am sure that it does not belong to that guy but from Axel. Mukhang umalis na si Mateo.

Of course, I shouldn't be waiting for the sound of the closing door since he might not use it. Maaaring nag-teleport na siya paalis.

Either way ay hindi na ako lumabas maski na alam kong umalis na siya. For some reason, I am aware that Axel is still in the living room and he wanted to be left by himself.

Hindi ko alam pero tumalas ang pakiramdam ko. Naalala ko ang sinabi ni Kristoff na sabihin ko sa kanya kung may nararamdaman akong kakaiba sa katawan ko.
