Feng Jin unexpectedly locked eyes with the little fox.

The pair of emerald-green eyes sparkled faintly, reflecting in her gaze.

Feng Jin understood immediately and said to Ah Ling, "Go find two sets of clean clothes for Miss Yan."

Ah Ling, relieved, felt that though she had started this ruckus, staying any longer would surely drive her mad.

Bi Lan snapped back to reality, noticing her nails had embedded into her palms, causing a slight pain.

After Ah Ling left, Feng Jin used a cleansing spell to remove the dirt from Yan Zhao's clothes and also dried the little fox's damp fur.

Yan Zhao held the fox and remained silent.

Before long, Ah Ling returned with the clothes but sensed the strange atmosphere and hesitated to approach.

Receiving a gesture from Feng Jin, Ah Ling cautiously stepped aside.

Feng Jin took the clothes from her and handed them to Yan Zhao, saying, "Miss Yan, please change into these clothes. They might be a bit loose, so later I'll find a tailor to make a few more outfits for you."

Yan Zhao remained silent and did not reach for the clothes.

Feng Jin then took out Yan Zhao's Qiankun pouch, placed the folded clothes inside, and returned the pouch to Yan Zhao.

Yan Zhao looked up, her eyes peeking out from beneath her messy hair.

Feng Jin did not avoid her gaze and said lightly, "If your clothes get dirty in the future, just change them."

Yan Zhao didn't respond.

After a moment's pause, she silently retreated into her room.

The little fox remained unusually well-behaved, staying quietly in Yan Zhao's arms.

Yan Zhao closed the door and buried her face in the fox's fluffy neck.

The little fox's fur was clean, and her clothes were fresh, which smelled quite different from when they were dirty.

However...

"I don't know the cleansing spell."

Yan Zhao's muffled voice came from among the fox's fur.

To perform the cleansing spell, one needed at least foundation-level cultivation, which she couldn't master.

But her fox was picky; if things weren't to its liking, it would run off with someone else.

Ren Qingyue was surprised.

So Yan Zhao had this side to her.

The little fox's tail swished from side to side.

Suddenly, it leaped from Yan Zhao's arms and hopped to the door.

Yan Zhao watched as it used its small paws to push open the wooden door, but it didn't immediately go outside. Instead, it squatted at the door and made little noises at Yan Zhao.

Yan Zhao: "?"

She got up and walked toward the door, and the little fox hopped over the threshold, leading her outside the village.

Yan Zhao followed the little fox to the back of the mountain.

At the gentle slope behind the village was a clear spring, gathering into a small pool.

The little fox reached the edge of the pool and leaped.

The white fur ball looked like a big snowball as it splashed into the water with a plop.
