Feng Jin fired several arrows in quick succession, each hitting the serpent's head. The giant serpent's head bled profusely as it roared in agony, thrashing its massive, knotted body in an effort to break free from the giant tree's restraint.

From above, Lei Shuang descended, carrying a massive boulder. With a thunderous crash, she smashed the boulder onto the serpent's body. Instantly, its scales shattered, and its skin tore open, revealing countless cracks on its magma-hardened surface, with blood like molten lava gushing out like a fountain.

Enraged by the pain, the serpent unleashed a torrent of magma from its mouth aimed directly at Lei Shuang. She retreated quickly, but the magma moved even faster, nearly setting her clothes on fire.

"Tch, no way to dodge this." Lei Shuang gritted her teeth, bracing herself to take the hit.

Suddenly, a mass of green vines surged from the ground, forming a tall, woven wall in front of her, absorbing the brunt of the magma. Lei Shuang narrowly escaped, and turning in surprise, she saw Jiang Ying.

Jiang Ying, however, was closer to Ren Qingyue and Yan Zhao, which meant there was still a serpent's tail sweeping dangerously near her. Distracted while covering Lei Shuang's retreat, Jiang Ying was struck by the serpent's tail and sent flying, crashing through several dead trees.

"Jiang Ying!" Lei Shuang's mind went blank for a moment, and without thinking, she dashed towards the spot where Jiang Ying had fallen.

Smoke and dust obscured Jiang Ying's figure. Lei Shuang waved her sleeve to disperse the dust, and once her vision cleared, she found Jiang Ying among the charred remains of dead trees.

Jiang Ying's body was completely blackened, as if she had been burnt to a crisp, resembling a piece of charcoal.

"!"

Lei Shuang froze in place, her mind buzzing, her heart nearly stopping. Jiang Ying...

Just then, the blackened, ashy coating on Jiang Ying's body began to flake off, and she rolled over, standing up. With a quick spell, she cleared away the layer of ash covering her body.

Lei Shuang stared in disbelief. "You—you're okay?"

Jiang Ying shot her a sideways glance, as if Lei Shuang were an idiot. "I'm not completely unharmed, but I'm not going to die so easily. No need to mourn for me yet."

"Who—who's mourning!" Lei Shuang quickly wiped away the dampness in her eyes. "If you died, no one would be around to bicker with me. That'd be boring."

Jiang Ying's throat moved as if she wanted to say something, but it turned into a soft snort. "Idiot."

Although she had used plants to shield her body in time, there were still a few burns that couldn't be avoided.

Seeing this, Lei Shuang's nose tingled, her emotions swirling in a complicated mix.

"Stop standing around," Jiang Ying's voice had become unexpectedly softer. "Go help Feng Jin!"

With that, she quickly rejoined the battle.

Feng Jin drew her bow, aimed at the serpent's head, and loosed another arrow.

The magma serpent, repeatedly struck, was weakening rapidly.

At this rate, death was inevitable. Fearing for its life, the serpent unleashed its last strength, breaking free from the branches that had entangled it and attempting to escape.

"Don't let it get away!" Jiang Ying shouted, pouring more power into her spell.

Countless vines rose from the ground, relentlessly trying to bring the magma serpent down.
