A few muffled thuds were heard as several experts from the Blade Sect fell to the ground one after another.
Qin Yuzhen had a clear blood hole in the back of his head, with blood gushing out and staining the earth beneath him.
As night deepened, a black swift eagle descended from the sky and landed on Feng Jin's shoulder.
Feng Jin reached out and tapped the swift eagle on the head. The eagle opened its beak and dropped a wax seal into Feng Jin's palm before flapping its wings and flying away.
Crushing the wax seal with his fingertips, a thick, turbid black mist seeped out from the cracks and condensed in the air, forming a shadowy figure.
Feng Jin clasped his hands in a respectful gesture: "Lord Demon."
The black mist shrouded the figure's face, and the energy continuously flowed, creating subtle, barely perceptible vortices around the shadow.
A voice emerged from the vortices: "How have things been lately?"
Feng Jin answered honestly: "All threats close to Miss Yan have been eliminated, totaling thirteen people, half of whom were from the Blade Sect."
"The Blade Sect?"
The voice of Nangong Yin revealed a hint of coldness.
Feng Jin nodded: "Yes, the Blade Sect's leader couldn't swallow this grievance and has sent a letter to his wandering senior brother, asking him to intervene, recover the Immortal Xuan Order, and kill Yan Zhao."
"Hmph!"
A cold snort emerged from the mist, accompanied by a deep energy that caused Feng Jin to sway slightly.
His eardrums ached, as if thousands of needles were stabbing him.
While Feng Jin was in discomfort, a puff of black mist suddenly floated over, clearing his mind, and the painful sensation in his ears vanished.
"You've done well," Nangong Yin suddenly praised him, "You'll need to continue working hard in the future. If anything changes, use the communication jade to inform me."
It was rare to hear such praise from the Demon Lord. Feng Jin was surprised and a bit at a loss, feeling somewhat unaccustomed.
"Yes, this is what I should do."
Being unexpectedly favored by the Demon Lord, Feng Jin worried that Nangong Yin might ask if she had exposed her identity in front of Yan Zhao.
Unfortunately, what she feared happened.
"Have your movements been discovered by anyone?"
Feng Jin felt embarrassed but didn't dare to lie, honestly replying: "Senior Sister Ren discovered me, but Miss Yan didn't seem to suspect anything."
The shadow fell silent, and Feng Jin felt a prickling sensation on his back.
Is the Demon Lord angry?
Unexpectedly, Nangong Yin asked again: "Did you meet that child?"
Feng Jin understood whom Nangong Yin was referring to and lowered his head even further: "I met her once."
Nangong Yin then asked: "Tell me more about her. How has she been lately? How is she doing?"
Feng Jin briefly summarized: "Miss Yan passed through the Blade Sect and took the Immortal Xuan Order. She then traveled with Miss Bi and arrived at the Taiyan Immortal Domain, staying at the Medicine God Sect's inn."
