Yan Zhao put away the demon core, and the group was about to continue on their way.
At that moment, a figure descended from the sky and crashed onto the ground with a loud thud.
In the thick mist, lightning flashed, and Lei Shuang leaped across the stream, kicking the person and sending them flying to Nangong Yin's feet.
"Demon Lord, this person was sneaking around the forest just now. I captured him and brought him here!"
The straw hat fell to the ground, rolling away to reveal a disheveled face underneath.
The man was wearing shabby clothes, had a stubbly beard, and carried a tattered sword at his waist, looking very down-and-out.
Nangong Yin frowned. "What is he doing?"
Before the man could speak, another voice interjected in surprise: "Demon Lord, I know him!"
The speaker was Feng Jin. Nangong Yin lifted her chin slightly. "Speak."
Feng Jin stepped forward and scrutinized the man for a moment, meeting his angry and suppressed eyes.
Yan Zhao also turned her head to look and felt a fleeting sense of familiarity, but couldn't recall who it was.
"Definitely him!" Feng Jin asserted, "This man is a disciple of the Fuyun Sect!"
"Fuyun Sect?" Nangong Yin sneered.
Lei Shuang was startled as well. To bring someone from the Fuyun Sect to Nangong Yin, she had sullied the Demon Lord's eyes. How dare she?
She immediately grabbed the man's collar and started pulling him back. "I'll take care of him right away!"
"Wait!" The man shouted in panic. "I'm no longer a disciple of the Fuyun Sect!"
"I know where the entrance to the Xuanhuang Secret Realm is!"
Lei Shuang stopped pulling the man and looked towards Nangong Yin, waiting for her decision.
Nangong Yin gestured with a wave of her hand, indicating him to speak.
Lei Shuang didn't release her grip but stopped pulling.
Luo Qi took a moment to catch his breath and spoke quickly, "My name is Luo Qi. I was indeed a disciple of the Fuyun Sect, but I was expelled over a year ago. For the past year, I've been keeping an eye on the Xuanhuang Secret Realm, visiting here hundreds of times."
"The spirit of the Secret Realm has developed intelligence. It will randomly move in the mist if not discovered. Once spotted, it will either play dead or escape when the cultivator is sealed or backfires!"
Nangong Yin pondered and asked, "So how do you find it?"
Luo Qi felt the oppressive pressure from Nangong Yin, the aura of killing intent almost tangible, and he knew that lying would result in his immediate death.
He knew who this person was—the Cangli Demon Sovereign, Nangong Yin.
Three hundred years ago, she led a group into the Fuyun Sect. Though they were eventually repelled, they had severely wounded the sect's vitality and were infamous among demon cultivators.
If caught by Nangong Yin, he would face death without escape.
However, he knew he could never avenge his master with his own strength.
So, he had no choice but to take a gamble.
Luo Qi took a deep breath and said, "The spirit of the Secret Realm favors a particular herb. By guarding the place where this herb grows abundantly, it only takes a few days to find it."
