Lei Shuang tumbled clumsily through the air, flipping several times before landing on the ground. When she looked up, she saw the enormous beast flying away in the distance—it was a three-headed dragon!

The dragon's body was as massive as a mountain. Creatures of this magnitude were something Lei Shuang had only ever read about in ancient texts describing the great battles of antiquity. And hanging in its claws, a tiny figure, no larger than a sesame seed—wasn't that Yan Zhao?!

"Oh my heavens!" Lei Shuang cried out in disbelief, "How did you get yourself involved with that thing?!"

Without wasting another second, she jumped to her feet and, using her shrinking-the-ground technique, took off in pursuit of the dragon. "Wait for me!" she shouted as she sped after it.

After Lei Shuang left with Yan Zhao, Feng Jin remained as silent as ever. Jiang Ying opened her mouth several times as if to speak but ultimately held back. Nangong Yin had already made up her mind, and as her most trusted followers, they were naturally obliged to fulfill their master's wishes.

The ancient battlefield stretched out before them, desolate and barren. Nangong Yin sat quietly under the dark moon, meditating for a moment to calm her mind.

She then looked up at the sky, where faint sigils flashed intermittently. After a long pause, she said, "Let's begin."

Jiang Ying and Feng Jin exchanged a glance but offered no objections.

Both of them acted simultaneously. Feng Jin took up Lei Shuang's position, guarding Nangong Yin's left side, while Jiang Ying set up a protective formation to shield Nangong Yin.

Nangong Yin focused her mind and extended her hand, casting a spell that connected her consciousness to the seal above.

Waves of energy rippled through the void, occasionally revealing flashes of golden sigils, layered and incredibly complex. No one in the world knew Yuanqing's sealing techniques better than Nangong Yin. Therefore, only she could undo this seal.

As she studied the structure of the seal, her brow furrowed. A familiar feeling emanated from the formation.

It only took a moment for the answer to appear in her mind. She had seen this seal before—during the journey to the Immortal's cave, in the dream that spanned across time, within the seal inside Yan Zhao's body. This seal was identical.

Yan Zhao had two kinds of power sealed within her. One came from her demonic bloodline, and the other, from the Heavenly Palace.

This seal triggered a memory for Nangong Yin.

Hundreds of years ago, Yuanqing had been rewarded for sealing the Xuanhuang Secret Realm by being summoned to the Celestial Realm. The Celestial Emperor, eager to recruit her, had offered many rewards. But Yuanqing cared little for rank or wealth and swiftly declined, choosing instead to return to the human realm.

Life had gone on peacefully until one day, Yuanqing presented Nangong Yin with a small fruit and said, "You need to water this with a drop of your heart's blood every day for forty-nine days, then give it back to me."

Nangong Yin had stared at the strange little fruit, baffled. "What madness is this?" she asked.

"Just do it!" Yuanqing had insisted, her attitude unyielding. "Give it blood, no questions."

It was an odd request, but Nangong Yin knew Yuanqing wasn't trying to harm her. Still, something about Yuanqing's shifty eyes told her there was more to this than she was letting on.

Nangong Yin understood Yuanqing too well. Whatever this was, she was probably up to some mischief, likely planning to prank her.

But what was a little blood? Nangong Yin didn't mind giving a few drops if it would make Yuanqing happy.
