Yan Zhao's murmurs, like many times before when she whispered to herself, were carried away by the wind, with no one to answer her.

Suddenly, Xiao Hei jumped onto her shoulder, making a clattering noise: "Clang! Clang!"

Her thoughts were interrupted, and out of habit, Yan Zhao grabbed it and tossed it back into her pouch. Turning around, she saw that the dragon, lying on the ground, was not idle. Its three heads were working independently, each tending to a different area of its body.

Wherever the dragon's tongues licked, a sizzling sound emerged, and white smoke rose. The decayed flesh and pus from the wounds were quickly cleaned away.

Yan Zhao let out a soft "huh" and leaned in for a closer look. The cleaned wounds began to shrink inward, with signs of healing.

It seemed the dragon's saliva had healing properties, and the effect was quite impressive. Yan Zhao, recalling how Snowball always healed slowly from injuries, had an idea. She ran over to the head she had interacted with the most and waved it down. "Come down a bit."

The dragon, though puzzled, didn't refuse. It lowered its head, resting its chin on the ground, much like when they first met.

Yan Zhao gestured for the dragon to open its mouth, and it complied, revealing a slit wide enough for her to peer inside. She pulled out a small bottle, grabbed onto one of the dragon's teeth with one hand, and braced her legs against its chin. With a little effort, her upper body slipped into the dragon's mouth, and she used the bottle to scoop up some dragon saliva. She planned to test it on the little fox's wounds.

Meanwhile, Leishuang had been chasing the dragon for a long time. The dragon was too fast, and she had almost lost track of it. To spot the dragon's trail, she flew higher, gaining a broader view. From a distance, she spotted the dragon resting in a clearing within the forest.

But where was Yan Zhao?

Leishuang scanned the area and, after a moment, her eyes focused.

"!"

The beast! It was eating someone!

Yan Zhao's upper body was already inside the dragon's mouth. The dragon only needed to close its jaws, and it would cut her in half.

Leishuang's hair stood on end, and she used all her speed to shoot across dozens of meters. Before the dragon could close its mouth, she grabbed Yan Zhao by the belt and yanked her out.

She moved so fast that even the dragon didn't have time to react.

Yan Zhao, busy filling her bottles, had just finished collecting three of them when she suddenly felt a force pulling her out. By the time she realized what had happened, the scene around her had changed. One moment, she had been inside the dragon's mouth, and the next, she was at the edge of the pit.

The dragon finally noticed Leishuang, and its golden eyes flashed with ferocity.

Yan Zhao was utterly confused. When she turned and saw Leishuang, she exclaimed in surprise, "Boss!"

"Shut up!" Leishuang, furious, yanked Yan Zhao and sprinted toward the forest.

Behind them, the ground rumbled. The mere act of the dragon standing up caused the earth to shake violently.

Leishuang didn't dare stop. She was terrified the dragon would swallow them whole. Unlike Yan Zhao, she wasn't resilient enough to provoke such a terrifying creature. How on earth did Yan Zhao even dare to mess with it?

Who knew how much risk she took just now to save Yan Zhao from the dragon's mouth? One wrong move, and her life would have been forfeit.

Leishuang carried Yan Zhao, her pace quick and the latter bobbing up and down with each step. Yan Zhao had wanted to tell her that they didn't need to run, but Leishuang had already told her to shut up.
