The Mist Demon Ravine connects the human realm and the demon realm, filled with fierce creatures and rampant miasma.
If an ordinary person strays off course in the Mist Demon Ravine, they will quickly become disoriented due to the miasma's effects.
The poison here isn't lethal in a short time, but prolonged exposure will erode the body, muddying a cultivator's mana. If not cleansed in time, it can cause serious damage to their foundation.
The fox tribe of Qingqiu has special skills for navigation and defense; they carry a type of fox incense that can ward off the poison, allowing them to find their way home even when visibility is obscured by miasma.
Bai Jin shared part of her fox incense with Ren Qingyue. Ren Qingyue initially intended to refuse, but the Fox Emperor spoke up, explaining the miasma's effects and saying, "This journey still relies on Miss Ren. Please don't decline."
With that said, Ren Qingyue couldn't say anything further and accepted the incense, thanking Bai Jin.
This was the first kind word Bai Jin had received since reuniting with her cousin, and she was so moved that tears welled up in her eyes.
But before Bai Jin could press further, Ren Qingyue turned her attention elsewhere.
Bai Jin sighed, feeling furious at Tu Shan Yu.
If it weren't for Tu Shan Yu's foolishness in clashing with her cousin, would her cousin have been so upset?
The more Bai Jin thought about it, the angrier she became. She turned to the unconscious Tu Shan Yu and roughly tugged at his fox fur.
A patch of fur on Tu Shan Yu's tail instantly became bare.
Several days later, Tu Shan Yu's injuries improved, and he finally regained consciousness.
He felt pain all over his body, with no intact areas, and thus didn't notice the abnormality in his tail.
Upon seeing the Fox Emperor and Bai Jin, he breathed a sigh of relief, glad that both his father and younger sister were safe. It seemed they had successfully navigated the recent crisis.
But then he caught sight of another figure. Startled, he jumped up, only to pull at his injuries, causing him to wince in pain.
"Moving around right after waking up?" Bai Jin rapped his head. "Calm down; you're not healed yet!"
Bai Jin was also injured but managed to maintain her human form, unlike Tu Shan Yu, who, as a weak fox, would likely take months to recover.
Tu Shan Yu hissed in protest, glaring at Bai Jin.
She shot back, "If you glare at me, I'll say the same! Otherwise, let's ask your uncle and cousin for their opinion. Am I wrong?"
Tu Shan Yu remained silent.
Elder from the Medicine God Sect was also part of the group.
Ren Qingyue led the way while the elder brought up the rear. They had been traveling through the Mist Demon Ravine for several days.
Tu Shan Yu wanted to ask his younger sister why she was with them, especially since she had previously refused to return to Qingqiu. After waking from his injury-induced coma, he saw Ren Qingyue. Did that mean his sister finally came to her senses?
Unfortunately, Bai Jin was focused solely on Ren Qingyue, and the Fox Emperor sat down to recuperate whenever he had a moment, making it difficult for Tu Shan Yu to interrupt.
So, he kept his curiosity bottled up until they left the Mist Demon Ravine.
Due to the Fox Emperor's severe injuries, they often needed to pause and rest, extending their originally three-month journey to nearly six months.
