"Get off me!" Ye Yanran, having regained her strength, instinctively kicked Chen Er hard.
Chen Er let out a cry of pain and scrambled to her feet, sitting on the ground and rubbing her bruised calf. "You're completely inhumane! It wasn't intentional! Why are you so aggressive?!"
Ye Yanran, however, ignored her, lying motionless on the ground.
Chen Er sensed something was wrong and peered down at Ye Yanran.
Seeing Ye Yanran's face ashen, in obvious pain with cold sweat on her forehead, Chen Er's heart sank. She extended her foot to lightly touch Ye Yanran's arm. "What's wrong? Did I injure you by accident? I didn't do anything to you."
Ye Yanran closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and gritted her teeth as she spat out a single word: "Leave!"
Chen Er felt even more puzzled. Her gaze dropped and she noticed blood seeping from Ye Yanran's waist.
Her pupils contracted. "You're injured?!"
Ye Yanran took a deep breath, opened her eyes, and extended a hand. "Give me your hand, I'll help you up."
Ye Yanran hesitated slightly, but Chen Er quickly grabbed her hand and pulled her up from the ground, guiding her to sit by the bed.
Before Ye Yanran could relax, Chen Er suddenly bent down and began to tug at her clothing.
"!"
Ye Yanran was startled and shoved Chen Er away in a panic.
In the heat of the moment, Ye Yanran mustered an unexpected strength and pushed Chen Er off balance.
"Why are you like this?!" Chen Er landed hard on the floor, nearly flattening herself, and her previous worry turned into grievance. "I was only trying to check your injury, and this is how you treat me?"
"..." Ye Yanran, embarrassed, wanted to explain but couldn't find the words. Her ears, hidden in her hair, turned red without her realizing. Her voice lowered, "...Why did you suddenly start touching me?"
"Touching you?" Chen Er's eyes widened as she pointed to herself. "You don't think I'm trying to take advantage of you, do you? I've been single for a long time, but I would never do that to a friend! What do you think of me?"
"Bastard!" Ye Yanran, infuriated, glared at Chen Er. "I don't care who you are. You don't need to worry about me. I'm fine!"
Chen Er huffed through her nose. "Good intentions taken as a mistake! Fine! I'm interfering too much!"
With the two of them arguing, Xuanyuan Mu and Yan Zhao decided not to stay any longer. They left a message with the Wanbao Palace disciples for Ye Yanran and Chen Er and departed.
Xuanyuan Mu escorted Yan Zhao back to the relay station. Just before parting at the station's entrance, Xuanyuan Mu reminded her carefully, "Miss Yan, the Sect of the Clouds is likely not going to let this go easily. You need to be cautious."
Yan Zhao nodded. "Okay."
"Today, thanks to you and Miss Ren's help, if you see Miss Ren again in the future, please convey my thanks."
Xuanyuan Mu bid farewell to Yan Zhao with a cupped fist and left the relay station.
Yan Zhao took the little fox upstairs, meticulously checking its wounds.
The little fox was severely injured this time, with over a dozen cuts from sharp objects. Its fur was stained red with blood, clumped together in patches, which made Yan Zhao's heart ache.
