"Wrong move, doll," Dimitri said, his voice smooth and cold as he effortlessly caught her wrist, stopping her in her tracks. Crystal's heart raced, panic rising within her as he pulled her back, forcing her to face him.
"Let me go!" she pleaded, the fear evident in her voice.
Dimitri leaned closer, invading her space, his eyes dark and intense. "You need to learn , doll." He gently but firmly made her sit back on the bed, the cuffs glinting in the low light. "Don't you dare move again. You're safe here... for now."
She shivered, trying to push the fear aside as he retrieved the first aid kit from the drawer. As he approached her, she noticed the way his eyes roamed her face, lingering on her flushed cheeks and the wildness of her hair.
"Who are you?" Crystal asked, her voice trembling slightly.
He smiled, a playful glint in his eyes as he began to clean her wound. "Someone who is obsessed with you." His tone was teasing, and it sent a chill down her spine.
"Obsessed?" she scoffed, trying to maintain some bravado despite the situation.
Dimitri chuckled softly, clearly entertained by her defiance. " Anyone ever tell you how beautiful you look when you're confused?" He leaned in closer, his breath warm against her skin, and she felt a flush creep up her neck.
She turned her head away, refusing to let him see her reaction.
Once he secured the bandage, he straightened up and stepped back, giving her some space. "It's almost dinner time. I'll come back with food," he said, his voice casual as if they were simply discussing dinner plans.
"Wait!" she called out as he turned to leave. "You still haven't told me your name."
He paused at the door, glancing back at her with a knowing smirk. "Dimitri, Dimitri Volkov" he replied, letting the name linger in the air.
Crystal's breath caught in her throat, the name igniting a flash of recognition. Dimitri Volkov-the name alone sent shivers down her spine, and she remembered the rumors that surrounded him. The powerful mafia boss who commanded respect and fear in equal measure.
He seemed to revel in her shock, his smirk widening. "Surprised, doll?" he asked, enjoying her reaction.
Before she could respond, he turned and walked out, leaving her alone in the dark room, her heart racing just from fear .
What had she gotten herself into?
