she looked up at him, her voice barely above a whisper. "Who did I shoot?"
He paused for a moment, a small smirk playing on his lips as he stepped closer. “Me.”
“What?” she gasped, her eyes widening in shock.
“Yes,” he nodded, moving even closer until he was standing right in front of her. He reached out and gently grabbed her hand, pulling it toward his chest. “You shot me. Right here.” He placed her hand over his heart.
Her eyes filled with fresh tears, her voice trembling. “How... How could I have done that? It must have hurt...”
Dimitri let out a low hum, as if considering her words. “Hmm, it did. It hurt a lot.”
“But how did I do it?” she asked, her confusion deepening, her mind unable to reconcile his calm tone with what she thought she’d done.
He leaned down, his eyes sparkling with mischief. “With your love.”
“What?” she blinked, utterly lost.
“You shot me with your love, and it hurt in the most beautiful way.” His lips curled into a teasing grin as he watched the realization slowly dawn on her.
Her eyes narrowed. “You’ve been... teasing me this whole time?”
Dimitri tried to keep his composure, but the smile tugging at his lips betrayed him. “Maybe.”
Tears spilled from her eyes again, but this time they were out of frustration. "Liar! Liar!" she screamed, and without thinking, she started punching his chest in small, furious blows. “You scared me! You made me think I actually hurt you!”
Dimitri stood there, taking her punches as if they were gentle taps, his grin only widening. He was enjoying every second of it, his eyes never leaving hers. Finally, he caught both her wrists and pulled her closer, wrapping her tightly in his arms. “I’m taking revenge on you, Crystal.”
She tried to push him away, but he held her firmly, his chest rumbling with amusement.
“For shooting me and stealing my heart,” he whispered, his voice soft yet filled with playful intensity. He looked down at her, his eyes twinkling with a mixture of affection and laughter.
Crystal’s face flushed with a mix of anger and embarrassment. “Let go of me!” she demanded, struggling against his hold.
“Never,” he said, his smile growing wider. He was clearly enjoying this far too much. “I’m madly in love with you, and you’re not going anywhere.”
She glared up at him, her heart pounding in her chest. “You’re insane!” she muttered, but there was a small part of her that couldn’t help but feel the warmth of his embrace.
“Maybe,” he teased, his fingers tracing gentle patterns on her back.
Crystal shook her head, still angry but unable to ignore the fluttering in her chest. “You scared me half to death.”
“I know,” Dimitri chuckled, lowering his head until their foreheads were touching. “And I’m sorry for that. But seeing you all worried, all scared... it made me realize just how much I love you.”
Her breath caught in her throat as his words sank in, the sincerity in his voice surprising her. She looked up at him, trying to stay angry, but it was getting harder and harder. “You’re impossible,” she muttered.
"I know " he smiled.
