Dimitri got home the sight shocking him immediately: his guards were lying unconscious on the floor. In front of his house "What happened here?" he muttered, feeling an uneasy chill crawl up his spine.
"Crystal." His heart thudded as his eyes widened in realization. Without wasting a second, he sprinted into the house. More guards were sprawled across the floor, unconscious, evidence of a silent yet chaotic assault. He raced up the stairs, heading straight for her room.
Empty. The sight of her unmade bed sent a jolt of panic through him. She wasn’t there. His breaths grew shallow as he checked the bathroom. Nothing. She had vanished.
"This... this isn’t her doing, right? She not did it to escape," he thought, fear and anger mixing. " where are my parents?"
Fumbling, he pulled out his phone and dialed his mother’s number. She picked up on the first ring.
"Hello, Mom, where are you?" he demanded, cutting her off before she could greet him.
"We’re out, son. Your father and I just stepped out for a bit."
"And Crystal... she’s with you?" He clenched his jaw, hoping for an answer that would ease his rising panic.
"No, she wasn’t feeling well, so she stayed home. Why? Are you back already?" her voice was laced with concern.
He didn’t answer, simply ending the call abruptly. A sense of dread washed over him as he gripped his phone tightly, nearly cracking it. "You better not have run away, Crystal," he muttered through clenched teeth.
Turning to the guards who had accompanied him inside, he barked, "Wake them up! I want to know what happened here."
The guards quickly shook the unconscious men awake, splashing water on their faces. Slowly, they stirred, struggling to regain focus.
"What happened here?" Dimitri demanded, his tone sharp as a blade.
One guard, still groggy and disoriented, mumbled, "They… they took her."
"What do you mean, they took her?" Dimitri’s voice boomed, his patience slipping. "Who attacked us?"
The guard, struggling to form coherent words, finally managed, "They came out of nowhere... ambushed us. We tried to fight back, but they overpowered us and took her."
Dimitri’s face darkened, fury simmering just beneath the surface. "CCTV. Get me the footage. Now," he barked, his voice laced with cold determination.
