As they entered the bustling mall, Crystal sighed, glancing at Dimitri’s mother. “Aunt, I told you, I didn’t want to come.”

“Just enjoy yourself, darling,” she replied, giving Crystal a gentle smile.

Reluctant at first, Crystal followed along, letting Dimitri's mother browse through the stores. Slowly, she began to feel less bored as she noticed how excited Dimitri’s mother was, picking out clothes and accessories with a happy sparkle in her eyes. Seeing her joy, Crystal couldn’t help but smile and feel her spirits lift, finding herself enjoying the outing.

“It’s perfect, isn’t it?” Dimitri’s mother said, holding up a dress with a satisfied look.

Crystal’s heart warmed, and she said, “Thank you… I know you did this to lift my mood.”

“No need to thank me, dear. Just don’t try anything foolish, like escaping,” his mother teased, winking playfully.

“Oh, I forgot about that! Let me see if there’s a good escape route around here,” Crystal joked, and they both laughed.

They eventually found themselves in a men’s clothing store as Dimitri’s mother looked around for something to buy for her son.

“Wait here, Crystal. I need to take this call,” she said, her phone ringing as she stepped aside.

Crystal nodded and wandered through the store, browsing through the racks. She picked up a sleek black shirt, imagining how it would look on Dimitri. “He’d look… killer in this,” she murmured, then quickly corrected herself, “I mean, a handsome killer.”

She paused, feeling a blush rise as she shook her head. “What am I even saying? He’s a monster.” Her expression hardened as she remembered his recent behavior. “How can he treat me like that? How dare he…”

Lost in her muttering, Crystal didn’t notice someone approach until a hand suddenly grabbed her arm, pulling her behind a wall. She was about to scream when the person placed a hand over her mouth.

“Shh,” a familiar voice whispered, and as her wide eyes looked up, they met his.

“Elijah?” she whispered in shock as he finally removed his hand from her mouth.
