Crystal sat tightly bound, watching the
man who had kidnapped her as they drank in the other room. They kept a watchful eye on her, their gaze drifting back every so often. She was left alone with her racing mind.
Will Dimitri come for me? she wondered,
feeling a familiar pang of hope mixed
with doubt. He always comes..
But a darker thought crept in, shaking
her confidence. What if he doesnt? What
if he's too angry with me, too fed up?
Maybe he doesn't love me like he did
before... The thought weighed heavy on
her heart, filling her with an unfamiliar
sadness. She let out a quiet, almost bitter laugh.
"How boldly I told that man Dimitri
Would kill anyone who touched me. It's
funny, isn't it?" she murmured to herself.
"The thing I was most afraid of is the
thing I now feel proud of." Her lips
curled into a faint smile, but it quickly
faded as doubt clouded her thoughts
again. But what if he's had enough? What if he
thinks, 'Why should I risk anything for
you? You're nothing to me. A wave of
panic surged through her.Should I try to escape? she thought,
looking down at her restrained arms.
She tugged, but the ropes barely
budged. "These tapes... I can't even
move my arms with how tight this tape
is" she muttered in frustration. She
shifted slightly- and suddenly felt a
sharp prick."What's this?" she whispered, turning
her hand to touch the edge of the chair.
Her fingers brushed something small
but sharp embedded in the wood. Her
eyes widened in shock and hope. Thank
you, God. Thank you so much, she
breathed, a fierce determination building
inside her.Don't come, Dimitri. I'll do this myself,
she vowed, her voice filled with resolve.
Carefully, she maneuvered her hands
closer to the sharp object, her fingers
fumbling against the tape as she began
sawing at it. "Please, please..." she
whispered, willing herself to be patient.
It felt like hours, every second dragging
by painfully as she struggled. One of the men noticed her movement
and called out, "You doing something?"Crystal masked her actions, forcing a
smik. "Yeah, trying to get free. What
else?"The man chuckled, clearly amused.
"Want a drink?" he sneered. Her heart hammered in her chest. "Oh
gosh." she whispered, masking her
anxiety as he approached her. One of
them settled in front of her, leering as
he reached for her hair, twisting a strand
between his fingers. "It's a good brand-
just like you," he said mockingly,
bringing the bottle near her face. She turned her head away, disgusted.
"No.""Come on," he taunted, pressing the
bottle closer. They laughed, mocking her, and despite
her struggles, he forced a bit of the
alcohol into her mouth. She coughed
and twisted her head, causing the bottle
to slip and shatter on the floor."You-" The man's face twisted in anger
as he slapped her. "You wasted our
bottle!"He raised his hand to strike her again,
but the other man intervened, shaking
his head. "Let's go. She's no fun."The two men turned away, and as they
finally left, Crystal let out a shaky
breath. Heart pounding, she resumed
her efforts, grinding the tape against the
sharp object with renewed
determination. It was a slow, agonizing process, but
finally, the last strand of tape gave way.
She gasped softly, feeling the tightness
around her wrists loosen."Finally" she whispered, taking a
relieved breath. she felt a spark of hope.
