Crystal had cried through the night, her heart aching with Dimitri’s betrayal. By the time the afternoon sun filled her room, she still hadn’t found any peace. Her throat felt dry, so she looked and found the  bottle  empty  ,she went to the kitchen to refill it.

As she made her way back, a familiar voice caught her attention. Elijah’s. She paused, curiosity getting the better of her, and approached the partially open door. Inside, she saw him sitting across from a young woman, feeding her spoonfuls of food with an intensity she hadn’t seen before.

“Eat,” he insisted, holding the spoon close to the girl's mouth.

“I won’t eat,” the girl replied defiantly.

“You haven’t eaten anything since yesterday,” Elijah said, his voice softening, though a touch of impatience was still there.

“Call Dimitri. I’ll only eat if he feeds me,” she demanded, her voice quivering.

Crystal’s heart skipped. *Dimitri?* The name brought a flood of emotions. Why was this girl, Elijah’s guest, asking for Dimitri?

At that, Elijah’s face tightened with a flash of irritation. “He won’t come,” he said sternly.

The girl’s expression turned desperate. “But… you said he would! I want to see him!” She began to raise her voice, nearly shouting.

“Enough!” Elijah barked, his tone sharp, causing the girl to flinch. She looked down, clearly frightened, as he took a steadying breath.

“Now, eat,” he said, trying to control his frustration.

Reluctantly, she opened her mouth, allowing him to feed her. With each bite, she chewed slowly, her eyes filled with sorrow as she glanced around, seeming lost. Elijah poured her a glass of water, which she accepted, finishing it as he kept his gaze steady on her.

Once she was done, Elijah placed the empty glass on the table with a sigh. “Dimitri , Drimtri , Drimti... what kind of spell does he cast on these girls?” he muttered to himself, a note of bitterness in his voice. “They’re all just left crying for him.”

At that moment, he looked up and saw Crystal standing in the doorway, her face marked by confusion and a hint of hurt. “Crystal…” he murmured, clearly caught off guard.

Crystal stepped further into the room, her eyes narrowing as she took a closer look at the girl, slowly recognizing her features.

“Hazel?” she whispered, realization dawning. She’d seen pictures of Hazel before, Dimitri’s fiancée.
