Elijah and Dimitri exchanged a glance,
confusion clouding their faces as they
tried to understand Hazel's dad's
demand.

"Surrender," he repeated, his tone
mocking.

Before either of them could respond,
they dropped to their knees in unison,
their loyalty and determination
unwavering.

Hazel's father chuckled darkly, clearly
entertained. "Interesting.." he mused,
signaling to his men with a twisted grin.
"Hit them.

The men approached, fists clenched and
ready, and as the first blows landed,
Elijah instinctively moved to fight back.

"Ah-ah, not so fast," Hazel's father
taunted, wagging a finger. "What did
say? Surrender."

Elijah looked up at him, eyes filled with
anger but quickly stilled, his fists
lowering. His compliance was a show of
loyalty to Crystal-his silent promise to
protect her, even if it meant his own
suffering.

The beating intensified. Fists and boots
collided with their bodies, a relentless
assault that neither Dimitri nor Elijah
tried to resist. The men seemed to take
pleasure in each strike, taking out their
frustration and rage as the two
remained defenseless, their backs
bleeding, blood dripping from their
faces, noses bruised and swollen. Their
breaths came in ragged gasps, but still,
they didn't utter a single word, taking
every hit in silence.

Hazel's father sneered, turning to
Crystal. He grabbed her face roughly,
forcing her gaze toward the horrifying
scene.

"Look at what you're making
them do,"' he said coldly, pressing his
fingers painfully into her cheeks.

Crystal's eyes fluttered open, hazy and
exhausted. Her vision was blurred, but
as the Scene before her came into
focus, her heart dropped. The sight of
Dimitri and Elijah, bloodied and beaten,
broke someth ing inside her.

"No.." she whispered, a tear slipping
down her cheek. "Dimitri. Elijah."

The men continued their assault,
pounding the two relentlessly. Crystal's
voice trembled, her strength returning as
desperation clawed its way to the
surface.

"Stop it! Let them go! What are
you doing? Fight back!" she cried,
struggling against the man restraining
her, her eyes pleading with Dimitri and
Elijah.

Hazel's father's voice cut through her
pleas, cold and unfeeling. "They're doing
this for you, girl."

Her gaze shifted to him, horror in her
eyes. "For... me?" she whispered, looking
back at Dimitri and Elijah, their faces
bloodied and bodies bruised.

"To prove to me how much they love
you"he replied, his tone dripping with
mockery. Crystal's heart shattered as
she watched, helpless, the full weight of
their sacrifice settling over her.
