Dimitri and Elijah moved through the
dense forest with purpose, their breaths
synchronized as they navigated toward
freedom. The night sky was their only
witness, the shadows their allies as they
pushed forward, knowing they were so
close to escape.

Crystal leaned  against Elijah chest, her
exhausted form barely able to keep up.

"We're almost there," Dimitri whispered,
a rare, hopeful glint in his eyes as they
reached the edge of the treeline. The
escape was within their grasp.

Just then, a slow, mocking clap pierced
the silence. Stepping into the moonlight,
blocking their path, was Hazel's father.
His expression was one of cold
satisfaction, a twisted smile stretching
across his face.

"Isn't it a bit early to celebrate?" he
sneered, a deadly gleam in his eyes as
his men began closing in from every
direction. "Get them " he said to his men.

"Oh, shit," Elijah muttered under his
breath. He glanced at Dimitri, who gave
a subtle nod, his gaze hardening.

"Stay here," Elijah whispered to Crystal,
helping her sit near a sturdy tree for
cover. His hand lingered on her shoulder,
a silent promise of protection. Then, he
and Dimitri turned, facing off against the
approaching men with deadly
determination.

The clash was swift and brutal. Dimitri
and Elijah moved like shadows, their
skills on full display as they dodged,
struck, and dismantled each attacker.
Neither man allowed a single enemy
close enough to touch them, their
precision unmatched. Their opponents
fell one after another, their efforts futile.
Hazel's father's patience wore thin,
frustration darkening his gaze.

With a sudden, calculated move, he lunged
forward, grabbing Crystal by the arm.
She barely had a chance to react before
he yanked her up, her exhausted body
unable to resist.

A sharp gasp escaped her as he pressed
a knife to her throat, the cold steel
biting against her skin. "Enough!" he
bellowed, his voice echoing through the
forest.

Dimitri and Elijah froze instantly, the
lethal intent in their eyes softening into
something far more vulnerable as they
looked at Crystal, now a hostage in her
fragile state.

"One more step, and she's done for,"
Hazel's father warned, his voice dripping
with menace as he tightened his grip on
her.

Dimitri's jaw clenched, his fists still
tense as he glanced at Elijah.
