Elijah drove slowly past the open-air restaurant, glancing through the window when something caught his eye. His grip tightened on the steering wheel as he spotted Dimitri seated at a table with a girl in a striking red gown. Anger surged within him. So this is how he spends his time while claiming to be in love with Crystal?
He watched as Dimitri leaned forward, wiping something off the girl’s face, a playful smirk on his lips. The sight made Elijah’s blood boil. He just announced Crystal as his girlfriend and here he is, having fun with someone else.
Leaning back in his seat, he muttered under his breath, “You were planning to use Crystal as our weakness, thinking you’re so fearless, that you don’t have any vulnerabilities. But I see one now.” His eyes narrowed as he noticed the girl cough lightly, a flicker of worry crossing his face. Dimitri instantly shifted into caregiver mode, dropping to his knees beside her, petting her back and offering her water.
Elijah’s jaw clenched. What if I do exactly what you’re doing? Just like you kidnapped Crystal, I could kidnap this girl, he thought darkly. The idea ignited a twisted satisfaction within him.
“You should be ashamed, Dimitri, for lying to Crystal,” he called out, his voice dripping with disdain.
Elijah took a deep breath, forcing himself to maintain composure. He lifted his phone and snapped a picture of the scene, the girl’s face was out of focus but knowing his connections could easily uncover her identity.
With a determined flick, he called one of his men. “I sent you a picture of this girl. She should be in my basement by tomorrow,” he instructed coldly. “And bring me all of her information.”
He ended the call before waiting for a response, the adrenaline coursing through him. His eyes lingered on Dimitri one last time, the anger bubbling beneath the surface. This was a game he was prepared to play, and he wouldn’t hesitate to use this girl as leverage. With that thought, he turned away, feeling a dark satisfaction as he plotted his next move.
