Let her go" Dimitri demanded, his voice
low and threatening. "Otherwise, it won't
end well for you.

Hazel's dad chuckled darkly, his grip on
Crystal tightening as he pressed the
blade closer to her neck. "Don't come
any closer, or l'll end this pathetic love
story right here and now" he warned, his
eyes locking onto Dimitri with a deadly
glare.

Elijah raised a hand, signaling Dimitri to
stay back. They both knew that any rash
move could cost Crystal her life.

"What I had planned for you and what
you've become... you've ruined
everything." Hazel's dad spat,
disappointment clear in his voice. "I
wanted you to be a king, to stand beside
my daughter in power. And yet, you
chose this path."

Dimitri's eyes darkened, but he stayed
silent, his gaze never leaving Crystal.
Hazel's dad continued, his voice
seething with frustration. "I thought your
defiance was just a phase, that l could
set you straight, and you'd fall in line like
always."

He paused, then sneered. "Don't tell
me... you actually meant what you said.
You're truly in love with this... this
nobody?"

Dimitri's jaw tightened. "Don't disrespect
her"

Hazel's father let out a bitter laugh. "In
love, huh? What does she have that my
daughter doesn't?"

His gaze ran over Crystal dismissively
before turning back to Dimitri. "Is it her
looks? I admit, she's beautiful- but not more than Hazel."

Dimitri took a deep breath, choosing his
words carefully. "Hazel is my friend. That's
all."

Hazel's dad scoffed. "Friend? A friend
who's madly in love with you? Don't lie
to yourself, Dimitri. Everyone can see it."

"She doesn't love me," Dimitri replied,
his voice steady. "You know as well as I
do.. Hazel's condition is why all this is
happening."

Hazel's dad's expression darkened, his
grip on Crystal intensifying. "Don't you
dare call my daughter sick!"

"She is," Dimitri said, his voice
unyielding. "The sooner you accept it,
the sooner we can get her the help she
needs. Il can't keep up this charade any
longer."

Hazel's dad's face twisted with fury as
he pushed the blade harder against
Crystal's throat, a thin line of blood
beginning to appear. "This is all because
of her" he hissed, his tone venomous.
Crystal winced, her breath hitching as
the knife bit into her skin.

"Stop!" Dimitri shouted, his heart
pounding.

But Hazel's father only tightened his
grip, his anger blinding him. Dimitri took
a step forward, a look of desperation
and determination in his eyes, as he
prepared to do whatever it would take to
save Crystal from the man who had lost
all reason.
