Crystal’s eyes fluttered open, her head throbbing. She found herself tied to a chair, her wrists bound tight. The room was dimly lit, and the smell of damp concrete filled her senses.
“Oh, look—the brave girl finally woke up,” a man sneered, his voice dripping with mockery.
She blinked, her memories piecing together what had happened.
Flashback
She had been sitting in her room, flipping through a book, while everyone else had gone out. The silence was comforting—until she heard strange noises outside. She went to the window and peered out, her eyes widening as she saw masked men attacking the guards.
Before she could fully comprehend the situation, the sound of glass shattering startled her. Someone had broken in. Her heart pounded as the door to her room burst open, and three men stepped in, grinning like predators.
“Oh, she’s just a small girl. I can handle her alone,” one of them chuckled.
Crystal backed away, her voice trembling as she demanded, “Who are you?”
The man’s grin widened. “Your prince charming,” he said mockingly.
The other two snickered, exchanging amused glances.
She scowled, confused. “Prince charming? More like a frog,” she muttered.
“Came to rescue you, sweetheart,” the man said and lunged toward her.
Reacting quickly, she slipped out of his grasp, dashing around the room. “Stay back, or I’ll—I’ll make you regret it!” she warned, glancing around for something, anything, to defend herself.
They laughed, finding her defiance amusing. One of them advanced, and she grabbed a vase from a nearby table, holding it up like a weapon. “Don’t come any closer, or I’ll smash this over your head!”
The men only smirked, thoroughly entertained by her bravery.
“Oh, no! The little princess has a vase!” one of them mocked, feigning fear.
“You don’t want to test me,” she said, glaring at them, her grip tightening.
“Enough of this,” one of them barked, his amusement fading. He stepped forward swiftly, grabbing her wrist before she could react. She tried to twist free, but his grip was unyielding, and the vase fell from her hands, shattering on the floor.
“Good show, doll, but we’re running late,” he sneered.
The word “doll” made her stomach turn. It sounded so wrong coming from him; it was a term only Dimitri was allowed to use. She bit back her disgust, struggling harder, but he twisted her arm, holding her firmly as another man approached with a syringe.
Before she could scream, he injected her with something, and her vision blurred, darkness swallowing her whole.
End of Flashback
Back in the present, Crystal blinked, pushing away the memory of the attack. One of the men grinned, leaning close. “How are you feeling, doll?” he taunted. “Need some water, doll?” he added, emphasizing the nickname with a smirk.
She turned her face away, repulsed by him. “Where are we? Where did you take me? And where’s Dimitri?” she demanded, her voice edged with panic.
“Far away to reach you,” he replied with a cruel smile.
“What… what do you mean?” she asked, her voice shaking.
The men laughed, exchanging smirks. “Aw, is the little princess scared?” one of them teased, winking at her.
“Don’t talk to me like that!” she shouted, anger flaring in her eyes. Her defiance only amused them, though, and they leaned closer, their gazes intrusive.
“You know, you look even cuter when you’re angry,” one of them said with a smirk.
“Back off!” she snapped, wriggling in her chair, disgust twisting her expression. They only laughed, throwing more flirtatious remarks her way, each one making her skin crawl.
"Enough " Crystal heard trembled hearing a sound , it was filled with anger.
Author’s Note: Enough for today, I guess. Hope you're enjoying, because shit is about to get real from here.
