Dimitri sat in the living room with his family, the atmosphere thick with tension. His mother’s expression was a mix of concern and disappointment as she faced him. “You shouldn’t be treating Crystal like this. She doesn’t deserve it,” she scolded, her voice firm.

Dimitri smirked, a playful glint in his eyes that only added to the frustration in the room.

“Are you even listening to what I’m saying?” his mother pressed, trying to gauge the seriousness of his demeanor.

“I’m doing it, Mom,” he replied casually, leaning back in his chair with an infuriating smile.

His brother, who had been observing quietly, finally spoke up, “What’s going on here? I don’t understand your behavior, Dimitri.”

Dimitri’s smirk widened, his mind wandering to the earlier incident. “She said she was looking for a shirt for me. Then why didn’t she buy it?” he mused, more to himself than anyone else.

“Must have been Elijah’s interference,” he added, annoyance creeping into his voice.

“What’s going on?” their mother asked again, her patience wearing thin as she tried to make sense of Dimitri’s cryptic remarks.

“Chill, Mom. Nothing’s going on, just planning to make Crystal confess to me,” he said nonchalantly.

His mother’s brows furrowed. “What do you mean?”

“Do you really think Crystal loves me?” he asked, a challenging glint in his eyes.

“For sure, son,” she replied, unsure of where this conversation was heading.

“What about you, brother? Do you think the same?” Dimitri turned to him, seeking validation.

“It looks like it,” his brother replied cautiously.

“Exactly! She loves me; she just doesn’t want to admit it. But I’ll make her,” Dimitri declared, his smirk transforming into a confident grin.

“What do you mean, make her?” his mother interjected, alarmed.

“I’ll make her accept that she loves me,” he said, determination lacing his voice.

“Don’t tell me this rude behavior, pulling away from her, is all part of your plan to make her confess?” his mother asked, disbelief coloring her tone.

“I didn’t know you guys were this slow to guess,” he shot back, enjoying the perplexed expressions on their faces. “I would never treat her like this in reality. I love her more than that.”

His mother shook her head in disbelief. “You scared us. Do you know how worried we were about you two? The environment in this house was unbearable.”

“It’ll change soon,” Dimitri assured, a confident grin returning to his face. “Soon, she’ll accept that she loves me.”

Before his mother could respond, Dimitri’s phone rang, interrupting the conversation. He answered it, his tone shifting to a serious one. “Hello? What? I’m coming,” he said abruptly and then hung up without another word.

“Who was that?” his mother asked, concern etched on her face as she watched him storm out of the room.

Dimitri didn’t answer; instead, he left the house.
