The heavy footsteps echoed through the hall, sending a chill through everyone present. One by one, Elijah's guards were overpowered, subdued by a wave of men dressed in black, who moved with ruthless efficiency. Guns were drawn and pointed, circling the room until each person felt the weight of their threat.
Then, the man stepped forward. His presence alone was enough to silence the room. His gaze was sharp, intense—a look that commanded both respect and fear.
“Oh, so everyone’s gathered here. Not bad,” he remarked, his voice calm but laced with authority. He took a few steps inside, his eyes landing on each person in turn.
“Dad…” Hazel’s voice was barely a whisper, her shock evident.
A slow smile spread across his face as he looked at her. “Oh, my princess,” he said, his voice softening. His gaze then shifted, hardening as he looked at Elijah and Dimitri, still holding Hazel’s arms. “Let her go,” he ordered.
Dimitri released her immediately, but Elijah held on a moment longer, his stubbornness obvious. Hazel, annoyed, pulled her hand free and ran to her father’s side, wrapping her arms around him.
“Are you alright?” he asked, his voice gentle as he looked down at her.
She nodded, holding him tighter. “I want to go home,” she murmured.
“We’re going, sweetheart,” he reassured her, patting her back before glancing at his men. “Take them, too,” he ordered, indicating Elijah, Dimitri, and Crystal.
“Leave her out of this—she has nothing to do with it,” Dimitri objected, his eyes narrowing.
Hazel’s father gave him a cold look. “After what you said last time, I’d say she’s the only one who has everything to do with this.” He motioned to his men. “Take her.”
“Leave me alone!” Crystal protested, struggling as one of the men reached for her.
“Don’t touch my sister!” Elijah shouted, fury in his eyes.
The man chuckled darkly. “Ah, you’re in no position to make demands,” he sneered. Turning to his men, he added, “If she won’t come willingly, drag her.”
As they reached for Crystal, Hazel stepped forward, panic in her eyes. “No! Please, she’s a good person. Don’t hurt her.”
Her father looked down at her, amusement flickering in his eyes. “So innocent, my daughter,” he murmured, patting her shoulder. “Alright. We’ll go ahead. They’ll come after us.” He nodded at her, his arm wrapped protectively around her shoulders as he led her out.
Behind them, his men began pulling Elijah, Dimitri, and Crystal forward.
As they were being led away, Dimitri shot a dark look at Elijah. “You should have listened to me. You put Crystal in this mess.”
“Oh, who was the one who first announced her as his girlfriend?” Elijah shot back
