Hazel's father sneered, a twisted smile playing on his lips as he turned to Dimitri. "Right, Dimitri?" he taunted.

Dimitri’s gaze was fierce, unyielding, yet desperate as he looked up, blood trickling down his cheek. His voice was hoarse, but he spoke clearly. “Let her go.”

Hazel's father raised an eyebrow, his smirk deepening. "Beg."

As Dimitri knelt, broken and bleeding, Crystal’s voice broke through the heavy silence, shaky but resolute. “No…” she whispered, her eyes wide with fear and heartbreak. She struggled in the grip of Hazel’s father’s men, her face lined with anguish. “Dimitri, don’t… Don’t beg him.”

Hazel’s father’s twisted smile only grew, clearly enjoying the suffering playing out in front of him. He glanced at Crystal, mocking amusement in his eyes. “Oh, look, she still has some spirit left,” he sneered, tightening his grip on her. “What’s wrong, Crystal? Don’t want to see how much he cares for you?”

“Don’t… do this,” Crystal choked, looking back at Dimitri, her heart shattering at the sight of him so vulnerable. “Please, Dimitri, don’t beg him. You don’t have to—”

But Dimitri’s gaze stayed fixed on the ground, his pride long abandoned. “It’s okay, Crystal,” he murmured, his voice raw. “If this is what it takes… I’ll do anything.” His voice cracked, his head still bowed low.

Hazel’s father chuckled, enjoying every moment. “Oh, this is just too good,” he said, eyes glinting with satisfaction.

Crystal shook her head desperately, tears spilling down her cheeks. “Stop it, please. Don’t hurt him anymore,” she pleaded, her voice breaking. “I don’t want this, Dimitri. Don’t give him the satisfaction.”

But Hazel’s father only smirked, basking in their misery. “Oh, I’m enjoying this too much to stop now,” he mocked, his voice dripping with cold amusement. “Let’s see just how far love will push you, Dimitri.”

Dimitri’s face tightened, his pride warring with his love for Crystal. He lowered his gaze, his bruised and battered form visibly trembling, and then—he let himself break.

“Please…,” Dimitri’s voice cracked, raw and unsteady. He struggled to force the words through the ache in his body, each one a stab to his pride, but he didn’t care. “Please, let her go,” he choked out, his voice thick with desperation.

He leaned forward, pressing his forehead to the ground, surrendering everything he was. "I’m begging you. Whatever you want, whatever it takes—just let her go." His fists clenched tightly, knuckles white, blood dripping onto the dirt beneath him as he fought back the rage burning in his chest. He’d never bowed to anyone before, never allowed anyone to hold such power over him. But for her, he would.

Hazel's father’s gaze flickered, intrigued by the sight of Dimitri so vulnerable, so broken. “I’m not convinced,” he mocked, crossing his arms.

Dimitri’s shoulders shuddered as he looked up, his eyes brimming with anguish. “I’m nothing without her. Just… take me instead, punish me—anything. Just don’t hurt her.”

The sight was enough to make anyone’s heart break, but Hazel’s father remained unmoved. He chuckled, taking pleasure in Dimitri’s suffering, savoring each pleading word as though it were fuel for his twisted ego.

“I would give my life for her” Dimitri whispered, his voice barely audible. “Please… just let her go.”
