The Resurfaced Hound (Story 10 - Chapter 3)

With the Girls: 

The group of young women had been seated at a large round table at Terronto’s most popular tea room, the table mostly being reserved for occasions such as what the group is doing. 

Fiona’s bridesmaids’ party. 

The said Pomeranian was seated at the large fancy chair reserved just for the bride-to-be. 

Sitting around the large table was the rest of the group, which included Venno, Slendithera, Roxxane, and Hanna. 

Fiona was doing her best to remain happy and smiling, but with one glance from Venno, the Velociraptor could immediately tell that she was secretly trying to fake confidence because of something that was on her mind. 

While the others were talking excitedly about being bridesmaids for the Pomeranian, minus Slendithera who was stuffing her face with her favorite scones, having claimed the whole platter of them, Venno decided to see if the Pomeranian was alright. 

“Hey, Fiona, are you ok?” asked Venno, the Velociraptor placing a gentle hand on her friend’s shoulder. 

This caused Fiona to jump and shriek in fright, catching the attention of the others, along with everyone else in the room who turned to glare at the Pomeranian for disturbing the peace that the tea room likes to uphold. 

“Sorry, sorry, I’ll be quieter” said Fiona nervously, a bright red blush of embarrassment dusting her entire face as her ears lowered. 

“Sorry, for startling you, Fiona, but I just couldn’t help but notice that you were distracted. Is there something on your mind that you’re so worried about?” asked Venno gently, the Velociraptor frowning worriedly as the other patrons returned to their own hushed conversations. 

This caused Roxxane and Hanna to completely turn to also hear what Fiona has to say, the two now concerned. 

Slendithera blinked a few times, having been mid-chew with what she had in her mouth. The Porcelain Monster quickly swallowed what she had in her mouth before washing it down with a gentle sip of tea before also turning her attention to Fiona. 

The Pomeranian was now looking terrified, worried about what her friends would think when she told them what was on her mind. 

Who was on her mind. 

The Pomeranian was tempted to just laugh it off and continue to pretend nothing was wrong, but before she could open her mouth to say so, she couldn’t help but feel her heart shatter at the looks of worry and concern on their faces. 

Fiona just lowered her head and sighed, decided it would be for the best to just tell them. 

“I’m really sorry if I seemed really distant with this party you’re having for me. It’s nothing any of you have said or done wrong. I’ve just been really worried about getting married for the second time, considering my last marriage ended so horribly” admitted Fiona. 

Hanna, Roxxane and Slendithera all gasped, while Venno remained silent. 

“Wait, hold up, you were married before? To who?” asked Roxxane, the female Neon unable to believe her ears. 

“And how long ago? And for how long?” asked Hanna. 

“Was he really hot and sexy?” asked Slendithera, the Porcelain Monster suddenly jumping in with her own question with an evil smirk on her face. 

Venno just glared at her sister and stomped her foot down on hers, causing Slendithera to yelp in shock and pain. 

“My ex, from when I was still in school. I was really young, and really stupid for falling for his stupid pick-up lines and charming, confident attitude. When he popped the question a few months later, after we started dating, everyone was telling me that I was making a mistake, but I wouldn’t listen. Not even to my parents. They warned me about getting married at such a young age, but I got really mad and just moved out, refusing to even talk to them when they later tried voicing their reluctant support. I haven’t ever since, even to this day because I was so embarrassed after what happened just a few weeks after my wedding that I just disappeared all together” admitted Fiona, looking down in shame.
