A few hours later:

The Angle Rapter Casino lobby:

With Elvira:

The young Velociraptor Angler was crouching on the upper third floor balcony glaring down at the young Lake Monster who was sitting on the front desk chair and idly spinning it and himself around out of sheer boredom.

Elvira narrowed her eyes as she watched him momentarily stop in what he was doing before continuing, having attempted to pick up more speed in order to spin himself and the chair faster.

Her grandparents, aunts, and uncles were all in the former casino slot machine room now turned into an event room setting up for her birthday party. Mr. O’ Possum had gone out to pick up a few items for her birthday, such as a couple extra decorations and disposable plates and cutlery. Her parents had quickly gone out just a few minutes before, as well, the Velociraptor and Anglerfish having quickly informed her that they would be going just down the street to pick up her cake from the bakery.

The Hounds would be arriving a little later, once everything has been set up.

It was too bad the Neolites, the Arachnidias, and the Perkins would be unable to attend, but she couldn’t blame them for things that were out of their control. She could only hope that Larry gets better, the newborn Neon having gotten sick and was currently in the hospital, and that Jake and Hanna managed to get through their busy day full of work. The only thing she was disappointed to hear about was the fact that Keven and Marabella were moving to another city, the normal Velociraptor having been transferred due to his job meaning she would be unable to meet their newborn baby once the day comes.

Maybe her parents were right and that they would eventually move back someday?

She could only hope that that would be the case.

Maybe Jake and Hanna would finally have a kid of their own, soon, too? They were basically the last couple in her parents’ friend group who have yet to have a kid.

Slendithera and Rad were still too young, her aunt and uncle having yet to get married to their partners. If she recalled, she had heard Luke tell Slendithera that they would be unable to have kids for some reason due to a royal rule in his family, and Jade just outright refused due to some fear she has with the pressure of her own family responsibilities that she didn’t want to pass down onto her own child.

The young Velociraptor Angler jumped in freight, a small shriek escaping her beak when she suddenly felt someone place a hand on her shoulder from behind.

Whirling around at the familiar sound of the older Spider’s chuckle, Elvira glared up at a currently wheelchair bound Jerry as he wiped away a fake tear from his main eye, his Smoky Cloud Cat lying comfortably on his lap.

“Oh Ellie, you’re too easy to startle. If you want to be a Bounty Hunter, you should really focus on your surroundings and not just your target. I’ve seen plenty of Bounty Hunters getting hurt in the past just because they don’t pay attention to their surroundings as much as they do their target” explained Jerry wholeheartedly, the older Spider gently petting Steven, the Smoky Cloud Cat purring softly and stretching out his paws before drawing them in and burying his face with them.

Elvira huffed, the young Velociraptor Angler crossing her arms and glaring up at the older Spider with a pout, causing Jerrying to chuckle once more at her childish behavior despite her actually being a child.

“Oh don’t you pout at me like that, young lady. I’m sure your parents would have told you the same thing. It was pretty easy sneaking up on you with how hard you were glaring at that McSeasil boy down there” said Jerry, the older Spider smiling as he wheeled his wheelchair so he could also glance down at the young Lake Monster who was now going through one of the front desk drawers only to find that it was empty.
