The Former Claws of Anger (Story 15 - Chapter 3)

The Next Day: 

With Venno: 

The Velociraptor smiled as she entered her office, an old folder in her hand as Dexx followed close behind with Elvira in his arms. 

Both Barry and Scott perked up when they heard the sound of them entering, the two turning to greet them. 

“Finally!” exclaimed Barry, the Wolf Hound looking as though he would have gotten impatient if he had to wait any longer. 

“What took you two so long? And why did you need to call Barry and I in here?” asked Scott, the Possum looking more confused as he kept his eyes on Venno as she walked around her desk and decided to stand behind it instead of sitting. 

“Sorry about that, but Venno had to quickly make some calls this morning before we could leave” started Dexx, the Anglerfish smiling as he sat down on the sofa that was near the fireplace, Elvira giggling happily as he sat her down beside him. 

“And those calls were very important for this search mission that I have decided to employ both of your skills with. I may be the CEO of Bounty Hunting, but that doesn’t mean I can’t keep hunting bounties…well…technically this one isn’t an official bounty with a wanted poster, BUT I was kind of hired to help search for someone, and I could really use both of your skills to help find her. Since this is a search mission, we will not be employing the help of our Field Team for this one since we’re technically not rescuing anyone captured or kidnapped by a bounty” explained Venno, the Velociraptor opening the folder and flipping through a couple of pages before closing it, smiling when she saw that everything was in order. 

Both Barry and Scott exchanged confused yet excited glances, the two having never done anything like this before. 

“I’ve been on a few search and rescue missions before, but this sounds different!” exclaimed Scott, the Possum’s ears perking up. 

Barry smiled, the Wolf Hound nodding as he rubbed his chin. 

“Well, I know what it was like to be kidnapped by some bounties, before, so perhaps this mission won’t be too bad?” muttered Barry to himself, but was loud enough for everyone to also hear. 

Venno smiled and nodded, the Velociraptor about to continue when Scott suddenly interrupted. 

“So, who are we looking for? You mentioned it was a ‘her’?” asked Scott, the Possum now smirking at the thought of them looking for someone who he had a chance with, but he didn’t want to risk the embarrassment by saying it out loud. 

Venno nodded, the Velociraptor opening the folder and tossing it down on her desk, both Scott and Barry leaning forward and gasping when they both recognized the two photos that had been on top. 

“Wait…is that-?” started Barry, but Scott’s sudden hiss interrupted him. 

“I hope you’re joking with us, Venno, because I do NOT find this funny one bit!” exclaimed Scott angrily, the Possum recalling exactly everything that the Spider Crab had done to his two friends. 

Venno nodded, the Velociraptor crossing her arms. 

“Yes, Jerry and I met with Krabiss yesterday, and he asked for my help in finding his daughter, Debby” started Venno, the Velociraptor beginning to pace. 

“Believe me, guys. I didn’t like the idea when she told me after getting home, but after she explained her reasoning, I knew that I couldn’t stop her. Just hear her out” said Dexx, the Anglerfish glaring at the Possum angrily. 

Scott seemed to snarl lightly, but he decided to hold back any more comments, the Possum returning his attention back to Venno. 

“Guys, I know that you don’t like the idea of trying to find Krabiss’ daughter, but when I met with him yesterday, he was NOT the same Spider Crab he was a long time ago. I can tell that being locked up in prison had changed him, and I can feel how worried he was for his daughter” explained Venno, the Velociraptor hoping that at least Barry would understand, considering he, too, has a kid.
