The Former Claws of Anger (Story 15 - Chapter 2)

With Krabiss, Venno and Jerry:

The Velociraptor snarled as she backed away, Jerry standing just in front of her in case the Spider Crab was only trying to trick them into getting closer, his hidden gun at the ready.

The large Spider Crab that was on the other side of the metal bars was dressed in the usual orange prison jumpsuit, the thing most likely having to have been custom made just for him considering how large he was. Plus instead of two regular legs, the jumpsuit had to be made with six that were all rolled up to the upper leg joint of his legs. His slicked back, now grey streaked, hair was not so slicked back as it once was, the lack of hair gel making that difficult behind bars, but it was still clear that he had attempted to at least brush it back to appear so.

Over his left eye, he still had the same eyepatch that was hiding his lack of, the thing having been gouged out by Dexx's own sickle many years before, a single cracked scar coming out and over his eyelid and cheek.

"Why should I help you? You kidnapped my husband AFTER his bounty got dropped, AND THEN you nearly got us both killed! I was PREGNANT, and we could have lost our daughter because of your selfish need to get your ruby back without offering Dexx his freedom" snarled Venno, the Velociraptor's tail whipping angrily, her fists clenched.

Krabiss frowned, but nodded as he glanced away, a look of regret now crossing his eye.

"I know, and I'm truly sorry that I let myself go that far! I should have just offered your husband his freedom in exchange for the ruby, but I let my anger get the better of me. I wanted revenge for what he did to me, stealing the gift that was meant for my wife before her passing. I'm sorry, I should have been better, but I really do need your help and I have no one else to turn to but you!" exclaimed Krabiss, the Spider Crab clutching the bars with his claws so tightly that the things appeared as though they were bending slightly due to his own sheer strength, but refused to snap completely because they were most likely specially made to withstand inmates with special abilities, one such being brute strength.

Venno refrained from snarling again, but her teeth were bared as her tail continued to swish from side to side, her big toe claw tapping against the floor a couple of times in quick succession.

The tapping caused Jerry to glance down at Venno's big toe claw, her right one tapping angrily, an indication she was still pissed about what had happened.

"What could you possibly want my help with? Don't you have contact with anyone else on the outside? Your own Lobster guards, or even your daughter?" demanded Venno, the Velociraptor's fists clenching even tighter as she took a few steps forward, glaring up at the large Spider Crab.

Jerry was about to pull Venno away from the bars, the Velociraptor appearing nearly tiny compared to the humongous size of the large Spider Crab, but he was quickly stunned into halting.

"I did! I contacted my brother AND my guards, but they were unable to find my daughter anywhere! It's been five years since she disappeared, and I had no one else to turn to but you for help!" exclaimed Krabiss, the Spider Crab now sounding more than desperate as he unclenched his claws, the things leaving the bars bent underneath them.

Venno was silent, the Velociraptor having also frozen up when she heard the dire news.

"Your daughter is missing...?" muttered Venno, the Velociraptor unsure of what else to make of Krabiss' news.

Krabiss nodded, the Spider Crab now pacing as he tried to explain it as best he could in the time he had before the two had to leave.

"When I was brought in, I was able to continue having contact with my old guards, and they informed me of Debby's disappearance after the evacuation. They were in the City of the Sea of Dead when she went missing. I was so worried that I had ordered them to search the city, but they couldn't find her anywhere. It got to the point where I had to eventually order them to expand their search to nearby cities, but...they continued to come up empty handed" began Krabiss, the Spider Crab deciding to start from the beginning.
