Love and Bounty Hunting (Story 16 - Chapter 2)

Five Minutes Later:

With Dexx: 

The Anglerfish screamed as he was thrown backwards out the front lobby windows, causing them to shatter all around him when he fell to the hard concrete ground. 

Several onlookers walking by screamed in fright, but they were quick to run away the second the large Birch Tree Plant denizen came crashing out the other windows on the other side of the doors, Venno held tightly in his grasp as she struggled to break free. 

“Ugh, let go of me you fucking overgrown weed!” shouted Venno angrily, the Velociraptor attempting to break loose from the Birch Tree Plant denizen’s large hand. 

Her scythe was nowhere to be seen, the Velociraptor having most likely dropped it the second she was grabbed. With both her arms bound tightly to her sides by the large hand, Venno was unable to summon her weapon, and she was unable to reach her gun that was strapped to the side of her belt. 

“Venno!” called Dexx, the Anglerfish attempting to roll over onto his side, but he found it difficult to do so when he suddenly hissed in pain, clutching his side. 

“Alright, jackass, you asked for this” muttered Venno, the Velociraptor scowling as her tail began whipping from side to side angrily. 

Dexx watched as Venno let out a screech, the Velociraptor collecting her toxic venom saliva in her throat before spitting it out as though she were a Spitting Cobra denizen, having aimed for the eyes. 

Screaming in pain with the toxic venom saliva dripping from the side of his face, having gotten into his left eye, the Birch Tree Plant denizen quickly decided to throw Venno against the nearby wall, the Velociraptor screaming in pain as her back collided before collapsing to the ground. 

Dexx gasped, the Anglerfish gritting his teeth as he pushed through the pain, quickly getting up and rushing over to his wife as the Birch Tree Plant denizen ran off down the street, screaming in pain as the toxic venom saliva began eating away at his face. 

“Are you alright?” asked Dexx, the Anglerfish quickly sliding in beside her as she began to slowly sit upright, a pained expression crossing her face before she smiled weakly to try and hide it. 

“Yeah I’m fine. Nothing I won’t be able to walk off” said Venno, the Velociraptor chuckling as she tried to move to get up, but she hissed in pain as she attempted to move her shoulder. 

Dexx frowned, the Anglerfish about to say something when Barry and Fiona came running out of the building, along with several Field Team Operatives as they began scanning for the Birch Tree Plant denizen. 

“Are you two alright!?” demanded Fiona, the Pomeranian rushing over to the two with a first aid kit in her hands. 

Dexx nodded, but frowned worriedly as he glanced down at Venno. 

“I’ll be fine” stated Dexx simply, the Anglerfish more worried about his wife than he was for himself. 

Venno smiled weakly and nodded, the Velociraptor gently attempting to roll her shoulder to get a feel for how much it hurt, to which she hissed in pain once again at the sudden stinging. 

“Yeah, we’re fine. Just a little banged up, is all. I should be able to walk it off, though. I just need to-” began Venno, but she was suddenly interrupted by both Canines shouting simultaneously. 

“NO!” shouted the two, a shared look of panic and worry clearly etched into their features, causing both Venno and Dexx to jump in fright at the sudden interruption.
