An Hour Later:

Site formerly known as Arachné’s Web:

With Arachné:

The Black Widow was standing outside of the pit that used to be her bar, all the debris and rubble completely torn apart with hardly any sign of it ever being a bar aside from the few half broken bottles and cans that remained.

The area had been taped off with police tape, but the officers who had been standing guard to stop looters from entering the site had allowed the Black Widow through once they learned that she had been the owner of the now ruined establishment.

Roxxane and DJ were standing off to the side, close enough to run over in case Arachné tripped and fell into the large hole but far enough away to allow her some space to properly process the loss of her bar.

The Black Widow glanced around and saw that several Spider/Shark Mafia denizens were milling around, some of them in mourning with their hats off in respect for the loss of the city's most popular drinking bar.

Arachné sighed, the Black Widow lifting her head and scanning the alleyway on the other side of the pit, her eyes widening when she caught sight of something.

Quickly glancing back, the Black Widow saw that both Roxxane and DJ were distracted, the two standing with their backs turned to her and speaking in what appeared to be worried tones.

Deciding to take the chance while she had it, Arachné quickly rushed over to the side of the pit and slid down the edge, the Black Widow landing with a bit of a huff at the semi-rough landing on top of the hard brick and sharp shrapnel that remained.

She made it about halfway to the other side of the pit when she suddenly felt something rumbling below her, the Black Widow’s eyes widening in shock when it finally clicked in her head.

Picking up the pace, Arachné rushed over to the other side of the pit as quickly as she could in her tall red stiletto heels, the Black Widow using her momentum to jump up and hoist herself over the other side of the pit’s edge.

Just in time, too.

Had she been a second slower, the Black Widow would have been caught in the thorny vine trap that had quickly emerged from underneath all the rubble as though they were vicious serpents that had been ready to strike.

Breathing hard, Arachné took a moment to catch her breath before sighing in relief.

She then smacked herself on the forehead when she realized she could have just walked AROUND to the alley’s entrance as opposed to risking her life by going through the pit.

“Arachné!” called Roxxane, the tall Neon and her husband both worriedly running over to the edge of the pit, the two officers quickly stopping them from taking another step forward when they saw the slithering thorny vines retreating back underneath all the rubble, presumably going to lay in wait for the next victim to dare step foot on top of their trap.

“It’s ok! There’s an entrance to this alleyway just down the street to your right! I don’t know why I didn’t walk around myself, but now we know this pit is trapped!” called Arachné, the Black Widow pointing in the direction the entrance is with her middle right right arm.

Both Roxxane and DJ exchanged glances before the two quickly nodded and rushed off down the direction Arachné had pointed them in, the two leaving the two officers to stand alone, one of them speaking on the walkie talkie strapped to his shoulder in order to report what they just saw.

While waiting for the two to arrive, Arachné decided to walk over to where her eyes caught sight of something.

From where she had been standing on the other side of the pit, it was a particle section of wall that had been left standing, the thing looking as though several thorny vines had scratched up against it, but otherwise had been left virtually untouched by the sudden unexpected attack.
