A small figure was running down the streets at the dead of night, a slight drizzle misting the city in a faint fog, his long tail dragging along the ground as he was led by two small Shadow kittens.

He had greenish looking grey skin, and a darker more greenish blue fin on his head that covered his left eye, or where his left eye used to be, had it not been for his father accidentally slapping him with his claws. He also had a similar colored dorsal fin running along the length of his long tail, and two horizontal fins at the very end, and on the right side of his head, he had three small horns, along with a pair of ears that were constantly lowered.

His tiny fangs that poked out from his beaked muzzle glinted under the street lamps as he ran, his single visible eye with a bright neon sclera and a neon yellow iris that glowed dimly in the darkness.

He was far too young to be out this late, barely able to stumble his way down the dark and scary looking streets that were basically abandoned looking with no other soul in sight.

His mother had long been gone, since his birth as far as he knew, and his father was nowhere to be seen.

He hadn’t seen his father for nearly a week, and he was afraid of what had happened to him.

He may have been really mean and loud towards him sometimes, but he was basically the only adult figure he knew who could take care of him.

He had decided to go out and look for his father, but he got lost, all the tall buildings around him looking the exact same.

And his father had told him to NEVER talk to strangers, no matter how worried they sounded, he was to always avoid them and to never answer any questions, especially if they revolved around his father.

So, there he was, out of breath with tears in his eyes, whimpering as he quickly ducked into a dark alleyway as a silent car drove by.

The two Shadow kittens followed him into the alley, the two ensuring to stay out in the light to ensure they don’t startle the young Lake Monster.

They had only just met the young Lake Monster, but they were determined to help the poor kid get back home, having sensed his increasing worry and fear as he avoided every single adult that tried to speak to him.

Huffing as he leaned an arm against the nearby dumpster that he had stopped at, the young lake Monster managed to catch his breath, having been running for so long that it felt as though he had been running his entire life.

One of the Shadow kittens mewled, the one with the white wisps along her chest and paws, her brother sitting beside her with only a small single wisp on his chest.

The young Lake Monster turned to the two Shadow kittens, rubbing the tears from his eyes with his sleeve.

“I’m sorry you two…but I don’t think I’ll make it back home. Daddy must be home already, and he’s going to be so mad when he finds out that I’m gone. I don’t want him to be angry again, I just wanted to try and find him because there’s no food left at home, and he’s the only one who can bring home more” said the young Lake Monster in a Scottish accent, trying to hold back his tears, wanting to be strong for his father like he always told him to, but couldn’t hold the tears back anymore.

“I just want daddy to come home…I’m scared and lonely…and…and I don’t want him to yell again…I don’t want him to be angry anymore…” sobbed the young Lake Monster, his legs falling out from under him, causing him to land on his knees as he tried time and time again to wipe away the tears that were showing no signs of stopping.
