The Dance of the Angle Rapter (Story 20 - Chapter 3)

The Next Morning: 

In the Angle Rapter’s apartment dining room/kitchen: 

With Elvira: 

The young Velociraptor Angler yawned as she made her way into the kitchen/dining room, her brother in her arms. 

“Good morning, Elvira! Did you sleep well last night?” asked Venno, the Velociraptor already preparing breakfast for everyone. 

Elvira smiled and nodded as Dexx took Dominik out of her arms, the Anglerfish chuckling as he gently sat his son down in his highchair located closest to Venno's seat. 

“I did! Dominik woke up and started crying, but I was able to handle it just fine and put him back to sleep all on my own!” exclaimed Elvira proudly, the young Velociraptor Angler managing to climb up onto her seat as she patiently waited for breakfast to be served. 

Venno chuckled, the Velociraptor quickly flipping two eggs on the pan, having decided to make it over-easy for today paired with bacon and toast. 

“That’s wonderful! You’re a really good big sister for taking care of your brother like that” said Venno as she served the two plates to her husband and daughter. 

Elvira smiled and nodded, but then frowned when she saw that her mother didn’t have her own plate of food yet. 

“Why don’t you have a plate of breakfast, too, mom?” asked Elvira, the young Velociraptor Angler tilting her head to the side as she watched her mother slowly feed a small bowl of baby food to her brother. 

Venno smiled and shrugged, the Velociraptor quickly glancing over at Dexx as he took a bite from his toast. 

“Your father decided to wake up early and surprise me with breakfast before you and Dominik woke up. So in other words, I already ate” said Venno, the Velociraptor now catching Dexx’s attention, the Anglerfish turning to look over at her with a smile. 

“Well, it’s the least I can do. She did have a pretty long day yesterday. All I did was catch my bounty and bring him in. She had to deal with problem after problem basically non-stop all day. Luckily, she had Scott and Fiona helping her, but it was still a lot even between the three of them” explained Dexx, the Anglerfish shrugging lightheartedly and giving a weak smile. 

Venno scoffed, the Velociraptor now smirking. 

“Oh please, you’re the one who came back to the BHA covered in PINK paint. I can only imagine how embarrassed you must have felt having to take the train from New Strip City with your bounty in custody” shot Venno, the Velociraptor enjoying the sight of her husband blushing brightly at the reminder of what he had to go through to catch the guy. 

Clearing his throat, Dexx returned his attention back to his breakfast, the Anglerfish ignoring the way Venno giggled. 

“Well…I wasn’t really expecting the guy to turn around and tackle me in an attempt to escape, sending us both into a large stack of pink paints” explained Dexx quickly, the Anglerfish trying to hide his embarrassment as Elvira giggled. 

“Don’t worry, dad, I bet you looked good in pink. It’s one of my favorite colors, aside from purple!” exclaimed Elvira excitedly, the young Velociraptor Angler munching away at her own breakfast. 

Dexx couldn’t help the chuckle that managed to escape, the Anglerfish shrugging. 

“Yeah, I bet I would. Real men wear pink, is what some people say, so I guess that makes me a real man for walking around covered in the color, even though it WAS paint. And, I know your mother’s favorite color is ALSO pink, alongside burgundy” said Dexx proudly, the Anglerfish smirking as he turned to glance over at his wife who was just about finished with feeding Dominik.
