The next morning:
Across the street from Scott’s apartment:
With Killian:
The Lake Monster was standing in the shadows of an alleyway across the street from the apartment he saw the Rodent denizen and his son staying in.
In his hand was a cigarette, the Lake Monster calming his nerves as he waited patiently for the Rodent denizen to leave the building, whenever that would be.
Taking a quick puff, Killian held the cigarette in his jaws as he quickly pulled the sleeve of his trenchcoat up in order to check the time on his watch.
It was nearing six in the morning.
The Lake Monster returned his gaze back to the building only to perk up when he saw who appeared to be the same lightly orange haired Rodent denizen, a Possum, that had been standing on the balcony.
He watched with steeled eyes as the Possum quickly ran out of the building, his messenger bag slung over his shoulder and his cellphone out as he texted someone.
Killian waited for the Possum to quickly turn the corner at the end of the street before chuckling lowly, the Lake Monster turning his gaze back to the building and counting the floors once more to ensure it was indeed the seventh floor he saw the Possum and his son out on the balcony on.
Finishing off his cigarette, the Lake Monster took out another one, deciding it would be best to wait at least an hour before heading up and retrieving his son.
Thirty minutes later:
With Scott:
The Possum’s ears lowered as he entered the BHA, his eyes quickly locking onto Venno’s the moment he walked through the doors, the Velociraptor standing in front of the front desk.
Most of the lobby was empty this early in the morning, save for the small handul of employees who liked coming in this early.
The Velociraptor was scowling, her arms crossed as she glared at the Possum with the most disappointed look she could give him, causing him to shrink down.
What made it even worse was the pissed off look on Dexx’s face, the Anglerfish glared daggers while Barry and Fiona stood beside the Angle Rapters, the Hounds also looking disappointed and worried for his well being.
Scott was frozen in place when he saw them, the four clearly spotting him making an escape impossible now, not unless he wanted to suffer their wrath for running away.
The Possum quickly whirled around, the looks of confusion from his friends going unnoticed by him as he quickly ran his claws through his messy light orange hair, now sweating waterfalls.
“Alright O’Possum…it’s just your friends…they’re probably just worried about you so just…act natural…” muttered Scott to himself, the Possum hunched over slightly.
Scott then whirled back around, a large grin plastered on his face as he waltzed right over to the four, a nervous chuckle escaping him.
“Hey guys! How’s it going? Working hard or hardly working, am I right?” asked Scott, the Possum opening his arms and walking straight over to Venno, the Velociraptor’s scowl now returning as she sidestepped his attempt to wrap his arms around her.
Scott quickly turned to look at her in confusion when Dexx was quick to block his path, the Anglerfish snarling as his eyes flashed to a bright teal.
“Don’t even THINK about touching my wife again, you fucking road kill” snarled Dexx angrily, the Anglerfish shoving Scott back slightly, the Possum managing to quickly steady himself before he could fall back.
