Rad's Jade Gem (Story 14 - Chapter 3)

With Rad: 

The Toxic Sludge was pushed up against the brick wall of the tall building behind him, the green Harpy with a piercing glare boring into his very soul as he snarled, but kept his anger held back as three sharp metal feathers pointed directly at his chin. 

“Tell me exactly what happened, and maybe I’ll spare your fucking life, you disgusting…green…thing!” exclaimed the green Harpy, her name most likely Jade judging from what Harper had been calling her. 

Rad just chuckled as he shrugged, the Toxic Sludge quickly shifting his body out from his trapped state, causing the green Harpy to gasp in shock and quickly turn to continue pointing her metal feathers at him. 

That’s the best insult you’ve got? Seriously?” asked Rad, the Toxic Sludge scowling as the two began to circle, the Harpy refusing to back down from her stance. 

“Jade, stop it! He’s an old friend of mine from years ago! He really helped me out, and I’m grateful for being able to speak about my concerns and worries thanks to his advice” explained Harper, the pink Harpy looking worried as she quickly got in between the two, causing them both to quickly back down from their semi-hostile states. 

Jade sighed as she sheathed her metal feathers, the things disappearing amongst the feathers of her wings. 

“Fine. Just please tell me what happened. I still don’t fucking trust this green blob, but I’m willing to listen” said Jade, the green Harpy crossing her wings, her glare directed back at the Toxic Sludge. 

Rad clenched his fists at the name he had been called, the Toxic Sludge snarling angrily. 

“I am NOT a ‘blob’. I am a Toxic Sludge who can take on any form I desire. This human-like form is the form I default to on a normal basis, and I am quite insulted with your harsh name calling” stated Rad, the Toxic Sludge crossing his arms and turning his head away. 

Jade scoffed and rolled her eyes before gesturing a wings up to indicate he should start to explain. 

“Fine. Like your cousin said, she was attacked by some Plant denizens who planned on kidnapping her and holding her for ransom. I believe those are at least two of the Plant denizens who have been running around trying to cause trouble for the Spider/Shark Mafia lately. After today, I’m planning on heading to the BHA in order to get sketches done for wanted posters” explained Rad, the Toxic Sludge then shrugging. 

“Anyway, I heard her screams, came running, and managed to sneak up on the two. Nailed one of then in the throat, meaning he probably won’t be talking about any of their plans out loud again, so I did them a favor by hopefully shutting him up permanently” said Rad, the Toxic Sludge smirking proudly as he nodded at the thought of what he’d done. 

Jade just frowned, the Harpy about to say something when her cousin suddenly interrupted. 

“Can I come!?” exclaimed Harper, the pink Harpy smiling as she began hopping from one foot to another. 

“What!?” exclaimed Jade, the green Harpy shocked. 

“What?” asked Rad, the Toxic Sludge confused. 

Because the two had spoken at the same time, they both exchanged glances, the Toxic Sludge tilting his head to the side while Jade scoffed and rolled her eyes once again. 

“I wanna come to the BHA! I got a pretty good look at those two, so I can help with the sketches for those wanted posters!” exclaimed Harper, the pink Harpy smiling as she came to stand next to Rad. 

“Uh, no, you can’t. We need to get going, like right now! My mother expects us back at the apartment in like an hour and a half. We need to finish this short tour before heading over” explained Jade, but Harper refused to listen.
